I want a good replacement for Ty Law . We need a deep ball coverage man and a good tackler !

2 O lineman then a replacement for Law.

If we can keep our O on the field longer, the D will have a few breathers.

Wow.

Hadn't thought of that.

If you can clone a sheep, you can clone a lineman!

Last night's game was a good example of what a good offensive line can mean to a football team. If Croyle had that kind of time he would only throw 1 int per game.

My vote is for O-Line with 2 of the first 3 picks. But I would like to see them get the best player available as well. Hopefully the best player available at #5 will be a OT or CB.

I would rank our needs as: OT; OG; CB; OG; LB; DT; DE; CB; and OT.

Of course, that doesn't mean that we can actually draft by those positional needs. But I dislike the "Best Player Available" concept, as it is entirely ovious that as well as needing help at specific positions, there are also positions that specifically do not need help.

For example, if the best player available is a runningback, is that what we should draft in the first round? I don't think so.

It is about filling the needs of the team, in the best way possible. Trying not to waste your draft positioning by selecting a player with less actual value than the spot that you are drafting in.

I would like to see the Chiefs trade down from their first round position more than once. (Unless Jake Long is still available.) If we were to trade down five or six spots, then we would still have a top-ten...ish pick. We would likely gain a second round pick from the move, if not more, then we could trade down again. Maybe to the late teens, gaining another draft pick, or more.

Also, it is in that area of the first round, that the rest of the offensive tackle talent is expected to fall to. We could still get the first round OT that we need, and also gain extra first day draft choices, allowing us to address more of our team needs on the first day of the draft.

That is what I would like to see us do. I believe that the best value of an early draft position is in trade value.

O-Line but the best player on the board at the time.
