I am as big if a basketball fan as you will find. I grew up in Indiana, so go figure. I'm passionate about my Indiana Hooisers.

They've got a lot of talent this year. They are just extremely young and need to work on their ballhandling. I think they could do some damage in the tournament this year, but I doubt they will be cutting any nets down. I look for Kansas, NC, and someone out of hte Big East to go far this year. Right now Bill Self's team looks as good as anyone IMO.

GO IU. and Major rep for just starting this thread.

I'm going to a couple of Villanova games in February.

P T & A was a hilarious movie all the way through. Right from the opening scene where Martin is in the meeting where the room is quiet and the boss is taking forever reading something. Martin has to catch a plane and is frantically pointing to his watch and mouthing to someone else, "Gotta go! Gotta go!"

Oh and I also hate the tarheels. And UConn. And Duke. Yuck! Duke is like the darling of the NCAA, they get all the calls from the refs.

Glad NC went down the other day. Too bad Memphis has such a weak division. Cuz if only they would lose, Kansas would then be ranked #1! The Jayhawks are gonna beat the Cornhuskers today and move to 20-0!

Yep! One of the greatest movies of all time!

I agree about the Bears game instead of the Chiefs game, but they were trying to get back to Chicago, so it made sense for the movie.

"Those aren't pillows!" is what Dell said right before they said "Did you see that Bears game?"

Also a very funny quote.

I also thought it was hilarious that the dog wouldn't let them have the gloves in the back of the pickup on the way to Stubsville!

Back on topic of thread, how about that Beasley from KSU? He is a beast. KU had better hope he splits for the NBA draft, or K-State will be a team to reckon with next year! I do think that KU has the best team, and this could be their year for the big show!

Yeah too bad Kansas suffered their first defeat. But they should go DEEP in the tournament if not all the way!

This Saturday at noon I'll be at a college basketball game to see Syracuse at Villanova. Too bad 'Nova is reeling of late. Lost 3 in a row now. I saw them the past two years against Syracuse and 'Nova won both of them so maybe they'll beat em' again.

Last year Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook were at the game because they went to Syracuse and Villanova, respectively.

I'm back from the basketball game. I saw Syracuse at Villanova today. Packed house of 20,000 with about 2000 Cuse fans (many who sat around us, ugh!). Had to keep hearing them chanting, "Let's go Orange!"
And they beat us pretty bad after we got off to a nice start. At one point they had a 21-2 run. Nova is really reeling these days, having lost 4 in a row. They're missing too many open shots and playing bad defense. Still fun to be at the game and looking forward to going again on the 25th against Marquette.

I see Kansas was tied at the half with Colorado but has now opened the 2nd half with an 8-0 run. Go Jayhawks!
Oh and I also see that Missouri and Kansas St. had a real down to the wire thriller with Mizz prevailing.

Yeah this figures to be a battle throughout. Baylor is good. They were in the top 25 before (now at #32).
23-22 Baylor now. Losing at #12 Texas on Monday would be a reasonable loss but they should win this one at home (KU is good enough to win both though. Gotta keep our #1 seed for the tournament in tack!)

During the game the showed a interview with him about the talk of being drafted in the NBA, his response was that he did not think he was NBA ready, and if he was to be drafted to play a few minutes of a game, he would rather stay in college and play 30 minutes, and money was not his concern, he just wants to play! So he might be around yet next year.

But are Chiefs fans really in the category of longsuffering fans like Lions fans and Cardinals fans? 2007 was a nightmare season (after the 4-3 start, that is). But usually we are either good or mediocore, not bad. Remember, 4-12 was our worst record since 1978.
Also remember our all time record against other clubs: We've beaten 20 more than they've beaten us. But only 8 have beaten us more then we've beaten them.

Now, since we have not won or been in a Super Bowl since way back in 1970, there is pain involved for Chiefs fans because of such a long drought from a championship. But I still am very proud that we seldom have a laugher of a season like this past one.

It's kind of like the Boston Redsox. They went from 1918 all the way till 2004 without a World Series title. There's two ways you can look at that. One is to say that Redsox fans were longsuffering because of that 86 year World Series drought. The other is to say that Redsox fans had MUCH to cheer about for all those years because even though they didn't win it all, they had so many years of good baseball (rarely a losing record; often winning 85 or 90 games or more).

Winning it all is the nicest thing and the biggest goal. But having a frequent playoff team or contender is still far more satisfying than having a frequent cellar dwellar like the Cardinals.
