Priest Holmes was a RB with a pretty ineffective Baltimore offence when we got him. That worked out alright.

Well, he caught it well in high school. I know this sounds like BS, but i saw this guy play in high school. We played against Darling in the first round of the playoffs in '99. I was only a sophomore, but i was on the "scout" offense for the varsity team to practice against. I was a reciever that year and i remember that week of practice because we all gave the guy who was "Darling" crap all week because the coaches made him wear a jersey with "Darling" taped across his helmet and the back of his jersey.

I remember our defense game planning for him even back then. He seemed to be their only play maker. He was a beast in that game. We won the game, but just barely.....but that was in high school.

Hopefully he's gonna be a beast for our team. I wonder why the Ravens didn't give him more of a chance? They don't have the best receivers.

Sammy drops too many big plays for that stat to matter much.

Nice to hear from ya zilla!

Who had a better 2007?

I think the most important stat on those two profiles was the height.

6'1" has a lot better chance of catching the ball high over the defender than 5'11".

Hopefully, the most important difference is hands. Because Sammie has none.

http://www.chiefscrowd.com/forums/images/imported/2008/03/32.jpg What is the average height of an NFL cornerback?

In: Football - American

Corner back height

The Average height of an NFL CB is about 5'11", give or take 1/2".

I'd say those couple of inches are pretty important given the dynamic between NFL receivers and cornerbacks!

That's only a couple of inches difference.

Actually although 5'11" to 6'1" is only 2 inches in height, it translates to more than that on the field. Not only is the guy who is 6'1" taller than the other guy, but typically his arms will be an inch or two longer also, this translates to 3-4 inches of vertical reach.

I think Speed and vertical jump are far more imprtant than a 2 inch height difference. It starts aout as an advantage but if the 5'11" has a better vertical jump and better speed then there is no real advantage.

Are you saying that a CB needs to be able to knock the ball away at the highest point before the receiver can get it?
