Come on lets have some fun here, let's speculate, what do you think the message will be?

I personally think it will be the announcement of another coach added to the staff, or one that has decided to leave. Nothing else that immediately comes to mind would warrant a news conferece

YZILLA has made the best guess yet, in my opinion, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had open tryouts for the Chiefs O line since he doesn't know how to draft an O line!

:11:

I still haven't heard anything here in KC about it.

Although he could be announcing that "You play to win the game!"

...Or maybe to announce that they have come to terms with Jared Allen over a new long term contract, but I think Carl usually makes that announcement.

I'm still holding out hope that he is announcing his retirement from coaching, but I'm not holding my breath.

Chiefs to Conduct an OTA Session in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 12th

Mar 24, 2008, 2:20:00 PM

Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Monday that the team will conduct an off-season workout at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri on Thursday, June 12th. Head coach Herm Edwards and select team members will conduct the final on-field workout session of the Chiefs off-season program on the MWSU campus at Spratt Memorial Stadium. The event is open to the public.

“St. Joe has been home to many of our most loyal season ticket holders and Chiefs fans,” Peterson noted in making the announcement. “For many years, along with the Chamber of Commerce, they bring a contingent to Arrowhead and have a large tailgate party. We felt it was appropriate to make the trip to St. Joseph as the first in a series of off-season practices we hope to conduct over the years in areas outside of the Kansas City metro as a way to say, ‘thank you’ to our fans.”

Dr. Jim Scanlon, President of Missouri Western, echoed Peterson’s comments. “There is tremendous fan support of the Chiefs in St. Joseph,” Dr. Scanlon said. “It is good of the Chiefs to acknowledge that support by bringing a workout session here. Western is pleased to partner in making this happen for our community.”

Dan Nicoson, Vice President for University Advancement at Missouri Western also applauded the visit by the Chiefs. “This is a rare opportunity for those of us who are football fans to see this type of on-the-field activity by an NFL team,” Nicoson stated. “All of us at Western will do all we can to welcome the Chiefs and their fans.”

The workout, formally referred to in NFL parlance as an Organized Team Activity (OTA), consists of players in jerseys and shorts (no pads) for approximately an hour-and-a-half, focusing primarily on the passing game. The Chiefs are scheduled to conduct a variety of individual drills, in addition to holding seven-on-seven (team passing) and special teams periods. Following the conclusion of the workout, Coach Edwards will address the fans and members of the team will conduct a 20-minute autograph session. KC Wolf and Chiefs Cheerleaders will also be performing and will be available for photos and autographs.

This is "Breaking News" from the KC Star...

Gunther will take on Chiefs LBs this season

By ADAM TEICHER The Kansas City Star

Defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham will also coach the Chiefs linebackers this season.

“His role on the team will be even stronger,” linebacker Derrick Johnson said today as the Chiefs started their off-season conditioning program. “That’s what he wants. He wants to be more involved with the players. Being a coordinator and not being a position coach, he was always saying to (former linebackers coach Don Blackmon), ‘Teach them this and teach them that and I’m going to do my own thing.’ Now he’s going to be right in the room teaching it himself. That’s all good.”

Cunningham has never coached linebackers for the Chiefs but has done it for the Raiders and Titans.

The move is aimed in part at getting more from Johnson. The Chiefs believe he has Pro Bowl potential.

“I’m excited about this, real excited about this,” Johnson said. “That’s going to be interesting, I would say. Gun coached Keith Bulluck and Derrick Thomas, so he’s coached a lot of Pro Bowl linebackers. It’s going to be a little different, but in a good way.”

The Chiefs have also been disappointed in middle linebacker Napoleon Harris since signing him last year. They signed Demorrio Williams this month to possibly take Harris’ starting spot.

That's fine by me; we have a veteran LB core that could pretty much coach themselves. IMO

Actually is said "possibly" but that is close enough in Canadian.

1. Basic News today was that Gunther Cunningham will coach the Linebackers this season. Don Blackmon was fired.

2. Chiefs will conduct there last OTA session in St. Joseph in May or June.

3. That if it were up to Herm that the Chiefs will conduct OTA at Arrowhead in the summer of 2009. YEAH!!!

4. Would NOT tip his hand on Matt Ryan or Ryan Long or anyone else.

5. HE did say that Rudy Niswenger ran today so he's going to be ready to be full speed for OTA's and that right now he's the starting center - and I'm good with that.

6. Also indicated that despite the age purge at One Arrowhead Drive that kicker Jon Carney is under consideration for 2008.

7. The other good news is about 45-48 players showed up for the first workout today.

8. Last but not least they are working already on extending the indoor practice facility. They are expanding it to 120 yards in total. Not sure they'll have it enclosed by the NFL Draft in a month but they've made a lot of progress so far.

Sorry if anything was a repeat !

I'd like to see Niswager succeed. He did face some tough D lineman in the SEC. Hopefully that experience can help him in the pros.
