That's what I'm calling for after getting EMBARRASSED by one of the worst and most screwed up teams in the NFL at HOME! ANYONE that thinks this team could even be MEDIOCRE is out of there minds after this one. I'm not sure we could do anything right.

LJ had a horrible game, as usual, with a whopping 22 yards, the other backs didn't do much better. Huard was "injured"(yeah right) and replaced by a guy a lot of the homers here wanted to see named Thigpen, satisfied? He forces the ball into coverage WAAAAY too much. Sure, he could get better, but to just put him in now? Isn't finding out about people what the preseason is for? Not to HERM!

Passing defense was good, Russel had a horrible game, but who cares? The Raiders ran on us like it was a track meet! OVER 300 FREAKING YARDS RUSHING FOR THEM! UNACCEPTABLE! If we can't stop the run, EVEN WHEN WE KNOW IT'S COMING, how can we stop the run at all? Special teams was mediocre.

Edit:
Before anyone harps on me about my prediction thread that I made earlier in the season, just throw it out the window, I didn't know our run-D could be THIS bad.

On the small bright note, Culquitt had a decent game, as usual. Bowe and Gonzo also had decent games. Other than that, down right PATHETIC! Getting a beat down at home by the RAIDERS? 0-16 and a #1 draft pick, here we come!

Trade Larry and cash to the Browns for Quinn plus a draft pick.

Take the #1 pick overall and trade it for more picks and turn them into a pair of first rounders. The first pick should be a top 10 pick and the second should be a late teens pick.

With the first, DE/OLB, George Selvie, South Florida
With the second, OT, Andrea Smith, Alabama
With the 2nd rounder, MLB, Brandon Spikes, Florida
1st 3rd rd, G, Craig Urbik, Wisconsin
2nd 3rd rd, OLB, Maurice Evans, Penn St.

It is so sad to watch us play. We go 3 and out, kick, kind of stop, maybe not.

Who call these plays? Run, run, incomplete, punt. We lead all of the NFL in 3 and outs last years and we are at it again.

I agree with 0-16. If we cannot even play with Oakland at home, we got no chance!

I don't always agree with your assessments of the chiefs Texas, but you always look to the future, and the good things to come...thanks for givning us a little hope that we can be a good team eventually.....

I was going to post a new thread, but I'll just post my thoughts here.

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax a little. Todays game was a complete failure for sure. I told my wife it was the closest to unwatchable I could remember.

However, some good can come from today. I think the QB situation is much clearer since Thigpen looked awful. I think the may give him one more chance, but if he doesn't look spectacular, then syonara. We already know what we have in Huard, but we did not know for sure what we had in Thigpen. Now we do.

The Raiders are not as terrible as they have been in the past few years. Did you know they have had a top 7 pick 4 of the last 5 years? They have talent over there as much as it hurts to say.

The Chiefs are very young, and with that comes inconsistency. The last 2 games should be proof enough of that. They will look like contenders one week, and like Division II college team the next.

I guess what I am saying is that it is not about this year. Forget about the record this year and focus on the improvements they are making on a more individual basis.

I dont think it matters who is QB manning,etc...until we do something teams will just keep coming at us. e don't scare anyone. Thats why it doesnt matter who is QB in NE because the team is the team..the team isnt Brady.
A new QB wont change anything at this point.

Yeah, we're in trouble....Most teams in the NFL evaluate their qb's during training camp and pre-season.....NOT IN WEEK TWO!!! Three different qbs taking snaps in todays game looks more like a team with no answers thats in disarray..I have a hard time swallowing the Huard is knicked up story...Since when does it take damn near three quarters to release the report of his condition? Herm was looking for a spark that was quickly doused...

I'm at a point that I would like to see the Chiefs draft a Qb ...I'm tired of this being the stop for QB journeymen...

that is what i thought. i felt like we were in a political campaign and Herm Edward's campaign staff had to issue a statement to cover up his mistake.

what was the mistake? it was lose/lose. all the QBs the Chiefs have right now are not any good. Least of all Huard. That guy is just awful. At least with Thigpen, he could run away from a blitz on rollouts or something and THEN make the bad decision. With Huard, it's either sack or bad decision/INT.

I want to know why they were ok with Hagans taking some snaps at QB. That was a little crazy. If they were going to go with a guy like that, they should've re-signed Printers. At least he has experience at QB.

If the QB situation is much clearer, what is the assesment? That we have no QB???? That is my assesment. Just as someone else said, they have been foolin us for 10 years now!!! Something has to give and I believe it starts at the top!!! At least thats how it works on every other team in every other sport when you team is soooooooooo bad for soooooooooo long!!!!!!

The Browns have Jamal Lewis who is essentially the same running back as LJ with better receiving skills, a better attitude, and a smaller contract. Why would they make that trade? It sounds great for the Chiefs, but it makes no sense for the Browns.

yeah, that is what we said two years ago...and then last year...fool me 3 times and i am the fool. there is no hope without major changes. The team is what it is.

HUARD IS 35! 35! get it through your head? no reason to play him since we are not competing this year! 35! we need to stick with a young qb and with all the crappy play that comes with being young.
fool me 3 times and i am the fool.
It won't take 3 times for you to become a fool.
You lost all respectibility when you told Chiefs fans that traveled hundreds of miles to support their team that "it sucks to be you".
Poor choice of words. FOOL.

I do not think that Quinn is the answer. He is young like the rest of the team. We need a vet to be the QB

Somewhere, possibly in another thread, I had wrote that with the exception of hanging out with everyone and drinkin some beers, meeting new people etc. It would have sucked!!!! I can and have had all the fun in the world before and after games but when watching a team as bad as ours, IT SUCKS!!!!!!!

A vet like whom? Should we throw a package together to bring back Carson Palmer or what? There aren't too many "vet" QBs out there that are worth building a franchise around.

I mention Quinn because by the time the Chiefs insert him as the starting QB, he'll have had two seasons of holding a clipboard, he was a first round pick (so he has talent) and because right now, he is a luxury for the Browns. Do you think the Browns want 1st round talent and 1st round money sitting on the bench holding a clipboard?

At least Quinn would be able to grow with the team (as Croyle would if he could stay healthy) and go thru his lumps as a "rookie QB" while the Chiefs aren't in playoff contention.

Let's say we go out and get a vet QB. Someone like Culpepper (who i am NOT endorsing). The Chiefs go thru their young growing pains for this season and next season with Culpepper at the helm. All the while, they're a .500 team picking in the teens during the draft. Suddenly, the Chiefs start winning a lot more games and their talent level is off the charts. What now?

This Chiefs team is ready to win and start competing for titles but now you have a 33 year old QB who couldn't even keep a backup job in 2008 at age 31. So, now the Chiefs have to plug in that rookie QB. Rookies take a good 3 to 5 years to completely mature and begin playing to their maximum potential. So, we fast forward (lets just say three years) and we look at this team. All of a sudden, the QB play is outstanding but all those players who made this team a contender are now wanting max deals. We can't keep all of them. So now we're plugging holes with cast off free agents from other teams.

But hey, Vermeil brought us a title with nothing but free agents, right?
