I move to fire Herm Edwards and hire Bill Cowher. Does anyone want to second this motion?

How many years did it take Bill to finally win the superbowl. Until then he was labled the next Marty. Made it to the big games but was too conservative to win a play off.

Bringing back Cowher would be a good move. But not to replace Herm - to replace King Carl.
Then allow Cowher to fire Herm or whatever he wanted to do.
I can't believe other teams haven't been pleading for his services. Maybe they have. Maybe he is tired of coaching and wants to stay settled down. Who knows.
Offer him 25 mil and see if he bites!

Herm is not the problem here. The Problem here is at Arrowhead and sits behind a door with the letters GM on it. 5 year plan huh.....Fifteen years later I am still waiting for that 5 year plan.

Don't stop there. We are 36 million under the cap. Right now the owner is more worried about spending money on the stadium instead of putting a quality product on the field. They are stealing from the fans of KC.

Yeah I can see your point. The Ownership is not the same since Lamar passed. Although I did not realize we we that far under the salary cap. That is insane. Oh well I guess we can just suffer though these times until the owner realizes if he can't put a good football team on the field they are not going to be able to raise ticket and parking prices every year and continue to sell out arrowhead. If this season continues this way this will be a watch up call for them and we will have to see if they bother to answer it.

Born and raised in KC and a die-hard Chiefs fan living in Phoenix. Does a head coach make a difference?? Hell, I live in Arizona and have been waiting for something positive to happen to the Cardinals since I move here in '91. Enter one Ken Wissenhunt, a Cowher ***'t and disciple. Cards 8-8 last season and 2-0 to start. Let me see......yeah I like the Cards chances a lot better than the Chiefs.
One big problem..........Herm is a General who has lost his troops and Herm won't fire himself. 76,000 no-shows at the next home game might spur the front office into action.
Good luck KC...you're gonna need it!!!!!!!!

You are right to a degree,it is partly the queens fault. But hermmie runs the team. he says what goes on the offense and defense. hermmie goes too and take gun and gaily with you.

there are surtain coaches who can take a bad team and make them play descent. herm obviousley is not one of those coaches.the worse part about all of this there are very few bright spots on this team. this is one big nightmare 14 straight losses makes me want to puke i do not care what the excuses are with herm he flatout can not get his players to play for him. his boring tactics set the nyj back years now he is doing it here come on you got d-bowe gonzalez use them not just when there is two minutes left you freakin jacka## the good young rookies we have now will never be great if they are acustom to losing all of the time

There is no way that I'll fire Herm.Let's be real.Herm has done a superb job with our franchise by rebuilding a young Chiefs team.No coach has did a better job of this within a 3 year span.If you think about it we should have a very promising 2009 season because we will be stacked with tremendous young blood while also acquiring plenty of playmakers through free agency. Can you simply just imagine seeing a fully loaded "Herm" young blooded team with plenty of key elite playmakers through free agency.Wake up.It's the reason in which Herm is here. Our next upcoming season looks to be very promising.

You can't be serious. Herm is garbage. He has a winning percentage of .382 in KC and .456 for his coaching career. Coaches with that kind of record become coordinators, position coaches, or find themselves somewhere in the college ranks. This is a guy that went to the playoffs with another coach's team in his first year here and has only gone backwards since.

In his defense, this is his 8th season as a NFL coach and he has made the playoffs 4 times in as many winning seasons. So, if you take the season total, he's basically right at .500. The reason his percentages are so low is because he has two 4-12 sesasons as a coach.

Okay, so he's not the worst coach in history. However, he is not a championship coach. I will be surprised if Herm remains a head coach in the NFL after his tenure with the Chiefs is done. I also don't think he will make the playoffs again as a head coach. His gameplan is from the 1950's in a league that's all about flying high in the new millenium.

Straight from wikipedia on Herm:

Herman Edwards' performance as a coach has drawn a variety of criticisms.

Teams coached by Edwards have typically started most seasons with poor performances, leading to speculation that Edwards does a poor job of preparation in the preseason. [4] (http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/NJPhones/2006/07/24/Big_Trouble_in_Kansas_CityHerm_Edwards_and_Ty_Law_ Not_enough_to_get_it_done) Additionally, Edwards' record on opening day of the NFL season is 2-6, and his teams have been outscored 203-135 (including 87-30 in the last 4 season openers, all losses) in these games. Ironically, the last season opening game that Edwards' current team, the Chiefs, managed to win was against Herm Edwards, when he was still coach of the New York Jets.
Edwards has been criticized for a number of perceived clock management gaffes.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-4)[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-5)[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-6)[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-7)
Edwards' game plans have often been criticized as too conservative with little or no imagination.[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-8) A prime example of Edwards' game plans, the lone Chiefs 2006 playoff game was one of the worst offensive performances in recent history.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-9)[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-10)[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herm_Edwards#cite_note-11)
Edwards has been accused of running multiple running backs into the ground, most notably Curtis Martin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Martin) and Larry Johnson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Johnson_%28American_football%29).

Any 1 of us could rebuild a team through the draft! He hasnt proven he can manage a game or a season! I can walk into a draft room and take players that a position needs or take the best player avail! Its not rocket science!:toast2:

Just go to a Jets forum and they'll tell you how "great" he is. I bet you loved the Chiefs of the 70s too, right?

He took the 10-6 jets to a 4-12 season, He took the 10-6 Chiefs to a 4-12 season, in just his second year!

Could some one tell me what he has done to deserve to be a head Coach? He isn't good enough to Coach High School!

I hear that! I haven't seen anything on his resume or career numbers that would indicate he should be a Head Coach. Nothing? What has he done, beside ruin two football teams?

Well, the media gets a kick out of his "Hermisms". So, I guess he brings comedy relief to the NFL.
