Agreed, I put Arrowcash on this win, but was not thinking it would actually come. Great game for the team, let me say even great game for Huard. As much as I knocked Huard he did play good today, if Thigpen either needs time with the clipboard to develop or he isnt the answer then I would be for (reluctantly) Huard being the starter until Croyle comes back and then after Croyle gets hurt (Likely the first game back) until we can get another QB. I am still not a Huard fan, and I am not sold he will play good all the time, also he was still a statue today, but if we can get the attention to the young guys and off the QB and get the confidence from the team playing good by having Huard in ... then I am for it till we find a permanent solution.

Game ball today... The team or at least everyone under 30.

Roger! and now it will be fun to watch all the experts try to find a reason why this happened. they'll blame it on Arrowhead(and be part right) but the Donks just got taken to the woodshed.:sign0098: on a side note: Albert has a dislocated elbow-Herb did a decent job filling in

I'm eating crow and proud of it! This team looked like it wanted to punch the Broncos right in the mouth right out of the gates. Who better to do the punching than LJ? This defense is the MVP, though, four turnovers and some KEY stops! Great win!!

Yes he did, when albert when down i was like oh sh!t... But i watched taylor closely and he did a great job filling in... Im leaving for work now with a chiefs win and the fubbalo bills losing... That would be the cherry on top

I love Tony G, and I still don't like Herm. The D played excellent against one of the leagues more prolific offenses. Damon played a great game, LJ running hard, Dwayne Bowe caching balls, and Shannahan is now 3-14 at Arrowhead. GO CHIEFS!!!! A couple of more wins and we'll have a winning streak, say goodbye losing streak.

Huard might not have been scrambling all over the field, but his pocket presence was so much better than anything I have seen out of Croyle or Thigpen. There was a couple of times when he stepped up into the pocket and made a play. It was great to actually SEE a pocket for once as well.

I am sure Croyle and Thigpen could run all over the field, and in doing so, miss out on the big gains, I liked his patience and his willingness to let the play develop. It showed great poise and knowledge of the game. I have not seen any of that from the two youngsters yet.

And let me tell you something else........

I am absolutaly floored on how awesome our 2ndary is!! I mean, our pass rush was the worst part of the game, and those kids (Carr, Flowers, Pollard and Page) were astounding when Cutler had time!

Even when Marshall made that first TD. I liked the D. Theres just not much you can do against Marshalls vertical. But if you get a chance to watch that play again....check out Carrs (whos alot shorter) vertical!

I agree Seek, I think it was just a reason for Herm to get Thigpen into a game as a starter. What I was most impressed by with the game was the Brandon twins. I thought they did a wonderful job.

I think there is a key factor that everyone is missing. Donnie Edwards didn't play, and it showed. D. Williams had a great grame and I strongly believe he helped shore up a poor run defense.

Teams were running at Tamba and D. Edwards with great success.

Also if he didn't have the club on his hand, he had an INT.

DJ and DW had great games which helped keep Denver in 3rd and long, and also clogged the some throwing lanes.

Williams didnt win the starting job because Edwards is the veteran leadership that Herm is wanting on the defense. Plus, with the new mic helmet for the defense, im sure Gunther feels more comfortable with Edwards. Williams had a great game though and after watching Cutlers comments after the game? I hope Williams walks up to Cutler when we go to Denver and introduces himself! Has Edwards lost a step? Probably but im still thinking that they are keeping him in for the leadership. Lets see if Williams keeps up this play and im sure he will unseat Edwards.

And how bout McBride? I know he hasn't played at a pro bowl level or anything but he has made great stride from last year. He has really shown versatility in the rush be it a bull or finesse. And he gets off the line fast and plays hard... I am excited to see this guy develop.

And kudos to Johnston for getting his first sack (at least I think it is his first)

With how young our D line is if they develop to their potential they are gonna be scary good.

Huard wasn't hurt against Oakland. It was funny to watch them get the story straight. Herm said he was dizzy, Huard said he didn't know he was hurt, then later his neck was stiff, nobody on the team seemed to know he was hurt, nobody was administering medical help to him. It was too funny.

Played pretty good yesterday. Love to beat the donks. hate them. I don't care if we lose a lot of games with this young team, I just want them to play with pride and heart like they did yesterday, especially against a rival at home.

Im too liking what im seeing from McBride atm. It is a improvement from last year, but he is still learning and developing and hoping he will be a force from the endor even from the middle. I also REALLY hope Gunther can get the defense back to the glory days where we averged 2 or 3 turnovers a game! Although im still not liking the Cover 2 defense. I still say give Gunther his damned defense back and let him do his thing with what we have. He will make it work and work well!

I don't know what makes a better leader. A vet who cant back up his leadership with play, or a guy who inspires the rest of the team with great play.

It was clear to me that Williams and DJ made the players better around them with their play, and vice versus. The youth, fire, determination, heart and rivalry feed the Chiefs yesterday.

Dont quote me on this but i remember herm saying in hard knocks he drafted turk because of his motor and always playing until the whistle blows and yesterday was a prime example of that.... I just wish we could get a little more of a pass rush from the front four, but i think they are doing a good job of keeping the lineman off of our linebackers because of tank and dorsey in the middle

I agree. Didnt really understand why Edwards got the start since he didnt play as much as Williams in the pre-season except for they thought they knew what they were going to get from Edwards. Like I said, I think Edwards has prob lost a step but I wonder if they havent given him the option to call plays while on the field. If they have? Then theres the diffrence since him and Gunther are close. I think yesterday was just a team that finally meshed and went B@ll$ out! I think that whoever was in there yesterday woulda got it done simply since it was the Donks. I did like the determination from all the younger players. I LOVED how the Brandon twins played! Dj is turning into a freaking monster. Williams showed he proved why he should be on the field more, and the D-line played better.

I have not had fun like that watching a game in too long it seems. I was cheering my arse off. Loved it.

McBride does seem to be developing well and our secondary is a bunch of ball-hawks.

I hope we play like this every week from now on.

Cause this season isn't about winning. It is about playing young and getting players experienced. It is a rebuilding year. Huard is not part of the future. We can play Huard for the rest of the season and then have a question mark again next year at QB.

The quesiton that remains, Is Croyle the guy? We need this season to find out. If he tanks, we need to look at other options. IF he does well, awesome. Lets fix a different hole.

Now if Herm has decided that Croyle just isn't reliable and has already given up on him. Then Huard will remain the starter and be ready for a new QB come next year.

The Broncos got beat up by L.J. and our defense stepped.Damon can stay QB because he's completely better than Thigpen but also we would've won if he started those 2 previous games.I still do hope for players such as Patrick Surtain and Donnie Edwards to come back healthy because they are important pieces to our defense.Seeing our young players with those 2 key vets only make me want to imagine how better our defense truly could've been during the Broncos game.We also need my dude Nap Harris back healthy because he's better than Pat Thomas.Bring on those Panthers.

Couple of things, first off Huard did start against the Raiders, he just got "injured". Second, Pat Thomas beat out Napoleon Harris for the starting spot, so why would he come back? IMO, they're both awful.

Ok,Damon did start which was right but Thigpen should've came out of the game and Damon should've went back in because Thigpen proved both games that he wasn't capable of being maintaining the quarterback job.Second,Pat Thomas has no right to even think about remaining comfortable at his position. He only beat Nap because it was Nap that was dealing with a injury.Pat Thomas completely scares nobody from a offensive standpoint.

I'm thinking if the Chiefs win at Carolina then Huard starts on Oct. 19th. If the Chiefs lose at Carolina then Herman goes back to Croyle on the 19th.

I personally think Huard should stay the starter (unless he happens to perform abysmally). He can get us wins, Brodie is still looking for his first win, and the season is early and we're (obviously) still right in it. But I'm afraid Herm is just too interested in the development and rebuilding of the young players, even at the expense of winning games. But we'll see.

Wouldn't it be really silly, though, if we win again next week at Carolina and then Herm still starts Croyle on the 19th anyway (saying something like, "Well, we said he was our #1 QB at the outset. Now that he's able to play again, he's the starter.") ?

I like Brodie and haven't given up on him (or Thigpen either) but just think it makes the most sense to go with whatever is working the best for winning. Just because Huard is not the FUTURE is no reason he can't be the PRESENT.

As Great as Huard played Sunday , He is still not the future . We have to find out this year who the future is . Huard is the right now and Thank God we have him. But we have to get Croyle back in and run let him run his course. Otherwise we can be ( If Huard keeps winning games ) another team like we have had for the past 10 years . " Above Average- but still Average " Our Goal is a superbowl and I doubt Huard will be the guy that takes us there . But its only my opinion. But we do need to see where we stand with Croyle - We have Huard as a backup if things start go south during a game . And I am not giving up on Thig either , I dont know why but I think hes gonna be a great QB someday. It will only come from experience, ups, downs and tears of sadness and joy. ( for Croyle or Thigpen ) .
