I say lets give the offensive line ALL the credit for LJ's excellent 7.5 av. today. After all, they get ALL the blame for his numerous 2.5's.
Heres hoping for more of this consistent play out of LJ for the rest of the season.

I thank the O-line, LJ, or whoever else wants a thank you. LJ won me $25 in my fantasy football league as I got the high score of the week despite having two players that went for zero.
The truth is that Denver has shown ineptitude on defense all season. This was the first time their offense couldn't carry them. Glad to see a Chiefs win for you guys! Enjoy!!!

I dare talk about the guy, he got the whole season off last season, played what three games? Didn't do anything either, couldn't block, couldn't run. Heck, Holmes came back after two seasons off and was running better than Johnson last season.
This season if he had been running like he has the second half of last game and today, we would likely be 3 and 0.
Johnson still has a long way to go before he proves he is worth 45 million dollars. He basically has had one complete seasons worth of vacation after signing that contract.

It's about being hungry man. He got those two seasons when he was trying to make a name for himself, then what did he do? When others were out there trying to make plays, he would give up on blocks. There were at least two games at the beginning of last season where Johnson could have blocked a defender and given Huard more time to get the pass off. I remember them well, instead of picking up the man, he pulled up on the play and caused a sack.
And what is this crap about not being able to catch the ball. It is good he finally decided to try and catch a little more. Since the beginning of the season, all we have heard is how Johnson cannot catch. Well it is good he is working on that since a 45 million dollar player should be an all around player!
Look, I am glad for the win, I don't think anyone could have possibly been cheering louder than me, but face it, Johnson has not been carrying this team like a leader should, like someone who has a 45 million dollar contract should.

Your bull**** criticism makes me sick. You are ungreatful, hatefull and stubborn. YOU make Chiefs fans look really bad. LJ has always caught balls until this year and his blocking was questioned by Jason Whitlock after the Cowboys game in 2006 and ever since then, people have said this. Hes as good as most backs on pass blocking. Thats not why he gets paid the big bucks anyway. Its because hes a machine in the running game and as soon as our line and game plan came together he showed it. FU. GO LJ!!

Couldn't agree more. I've never seen LJ as a team player or a role model for my kids. LJ is all about LJ. Character issues aside, he did have 2 great years in 05 and 06. Then held out for 45 mil, bought his Bentley, and took 07 off. After his "injury", ran for 100 yards in first 2 games. He may have given 100 percent this sunday, but he doesn't every sunday.

What I said to Heyvern goes straight to you too Bike. All great players want to win and all great players want to be great. If that doesnt happen, they got a problem. All I have to say is "Prove me wrong!"
Prove me wrong that it was not about being hungry. It happens to all of us, if you want a raise, do you just sit around with your thumb up your butt? No, you get out there and get things done.
Players like Johnson want to win, I have no doubt, but I am also pretty sure that there are times in his head when he gets down on those guys around him and gives up because he does not feel like they are pulling their weight.
Why am I sure that is his attitude? Because we ALL get that attitude when in that position. If others are not going to do their part to win, then why should I? That is the attitude I think Johnson had last season and this season. It is backed up with the way he acted last season, getting angry, throwing things, when he was not having a good game. Blame it on inner frustration, if you want to, but there is no doubt in my mind he was blaming a lot of other people for his woes.
I think when he went in and spouted off to management, he was put into his place and finally he realized that he was not playing as well as he could have. He has certainly changed his attitude since that "talking to". I hope it holds out.
I don't know if any of this is true, it is just a theory that fits the facts.

I must admit, I was bashing LJ a lil too.
But on another note, I dont think that was the same runner in the first two.
Somebody lit a fire under him to piss him off. A pissed off LJ is a lot harder to stop!
Instead of running out of bounds he went back in.. when the hole was shut, he kept his legs moving and found a detour.
Trust me, somebody told him to take them diapers back off to get him going. And thats exactly what he needed.

The only complaint I have ever had is his attitude. I was at the Opener last season against the Vikes and every time he got frustrated he threw the ball and got a 5 yard penalty. That is just a bad attitude. I am pretty sure all the players were frustrated, but there were no linemen throwing helmets around and taking penalties. LJ is great...when things are going his way.

One damn game? And we are all supposed to praise LJ like a god?
The game against Atlanta, he gained some freebie yards, as The Falcons welcomed us to run, while they held a large lead.
I am glad that we spanked the Donkos. But don't go shoving all this "Told you LJ was great" BS on me. Unless you want to package that with some "That Huard sure is a damn good QB!"
The way I see it, The Donkos' defense sucks a55, and it gave our o-line a chance to wotk togwther without all of the problems that real defenses give us.
Gotta run.

Im glad he did very well! Im glad we were able to ride him to a victory. Saying that, yes, I was saying trade LJ. Not because I felt he was a bad player. I didnt know how he would recover from the injury, and honestly? Still dont. What I was saying about trading him is lets get something of value for him if we are really rebuilding. Players to fill holes for this year and the ones probable for next or a couple high draft picks. For 1, I think he is a very good player and has the potential to be a GREAT player. Although I will say this....He has proven that he can be a distraction by his attitude from time to time. Think back a week or so ago. He was yelling since the team didnt want him to carry the ball another 420 times. I still say trade him but im not mad for us still having him.

Fortunately, I know my opinion doesnt have anything to do with :fatlock: I have seen (watching games) LJ drop alot of passes, but he seems to have gotten better. Blocking at 1 time was a concern and something he needed to work at. His coaches even publicly even said so regardless of what they thought about him. Also, you need to get it straight....A RB gets paid the big bucks to be able to be a multiple ability player. Just as a O-lineman. He cant just pass block or vice versa. A QB get paid to do basically 1 thing. A RB has to be able to run, catch and block. Thats what he gets paid for and paid very well now. I think most people are just saying this year is now for him to step up and prove he is the all around player he is being paid to be.
Well when you just make stuff up about being "hungery" and how "he was good his first 2 years to get paid and then quit" Its like, Who are you? Do you know LJ? You got some insider info? Thats not how the NFL works fella. What am I tellin you for? You know what players are thinking. Nevermind.

I'm just glad to see the old LJ back. He's running hard again and getting some success... maybe building some confidence in his line? I think so. When the subject of LJ came up around the house, I kept telling everybody that if him and the team get pissed with the losing and lack of production, he would turn into a monster again. If him and the line keep getting more in tune and develop more confidence with each other, the ball that is LJ has just started rolling.

The thing LJ did well yesterday was find the holes. When he's had poor performances, it's looked like he just running the called play to a hole that was really never there. Yesterday, he was showing good vision by cutting it back and/or bouncing outside-- something he started doing again last week in ATL.

Just an observation, but on his longer TD run, he clearly ran into the back of his blockers again. However in this case they held the blocks, he looked around and found a hole to bounce to, and then he was gone. I'm not sure a better defense wouldn't have pounced and locked him in, once he was up against the back of his O-line.

I think the difference was that there was actually holes to run through. The Broncos run defense was already suspect. Now we know why.

My prediction is that LJ will be gone next season. The Chiefs will be more than happy to let him pile up yards to improve their trade chances. They would have jettisoned him this year, but the injury scared away any team interested in him. They drafted Jamal Charles for a reason. They already had a proven backup in Smith. LJ is going to be 29, and in the grand rebuilding scheme of playoff readiness on 2-3 seasons, it puts him at 31 or 32 if things go right. The Chiefs want to prove he's 100% and able to rack up the yards and trade him to free up more cap space. He has a terrible attitude and players have privately said the guy is a cancer in the locker room.

Sure is funny how after he voiced his dipleasure with the way they were using him and the amount of carries he was getting, they strted giving him the damn ball!!! O line played well and that helped but as I have been arguing for as long as I've been a member, this dude is a beast and a top RB in this league. He should want the ball and complain when he's not getting it!!! That team goes where he goes!!!
Having said that, although his 200 yds helped an awful lot toward that win, I personally think it was the pass defense that won it for us. We were ranked 4th against the pass going in and we all know the Donks are a pass 1st team. We shut em down!! Good film work and preparation from the coaches!!!!!
LJ haters need to rethink things!!!!!! Give him the ball 20-25 times a game and we will be in most games.
Once again, the O line played great!! If they can keep it up, LJ will dominate this league and be the leader at the end. Don't know how that will affect our record but it sure can't hurt!!!!:sign0098: Chiefs!!!!!!!

I disagree.... I know some of you don't take me serious because I am female - but I think that LJ has been wanting this - I think we seen that in week 2 - 2nd half! Ever since then things have started clicking. He is pissed and has right to be when we are sporting 0-3! This is his damn job! So what if his personality is different from the typical.... maybe a little fire under every players a$$ is what we need! I dont see how running a guy outta town - that is showing us his passion - maybe the only way he knows how - is going to help the cause! IMHO:11:

Complaining about locker room cancers? What team DOESN'T have that? No one has the perfect team, no matter how much everyone might might think so.

Passion and fire aside, did everyone forget the training camp hold out that screwed the first few games of the season for us last year? How about slamming the ball on the ground after an ineffective run for an unsportsmanlike penaly? (more than once) How about all the public whining that he does to the press? That is the stuff I do not like about LJ. No doubt he is a beast on the field, my problem has always been his off the field crap. LJ is not the only player on the team but he is usually the one I hear publicly complaining about the team. And for all of the comparisons to Kolby and Charles....LJ make $45 million. He should be better, but up until the last two weeks, he has not been better.
If we were at a bar and you were spittin stupid nonsense like this. I would have no choice but to kick the S h i t out of you. Your one of those guys that would talk trash about the Chiefs if they won the Super Bowl. FIND ANOTHER TEAM. Oh, I forgot, the only reason why LJ ran well the last two weeks is because we have such a good offensive line, right? You are not an idiot. You are a stupid mother fu**ing idiot. Go root for the Donks or the Raitards.
Just what we need. Another big internet tough guy thats gonna kick everybodys a$$ that disagrees with him. Moron.

I'll bet dimes to doughnuts that there is a LOT more complaining going on but you hear about it when it comes from a premier player. TG aside, is the most recognizable player on the team. If you remember back, TG was complaining a bit about thing but nobody killed him. He was already getting paid so no hold out to enhance things soooo......ALLLLLLLLLL players complain at some point but when your the "go to guy" it gets blown up in the media and with fans!!!

I guess being a team leader he should choose his words more carefully. Like you said, Tony has complained but it is not all over the media but somehow LJ gets heard.

No kidding, I thought I was Mr. Criticism around here. There's still things I'm fishy about with this team, but what's the point in barking about team cancers and crappy players when we own a team like the Broncos? People just need SOMETHING to complain about, huh?

You're right, people just want to complain and fight about something. I understand that people still have their reservations about this team and that they feel strongly about their opinions. I'm not sold on us yet, either. But calling people idiots and telling them you would kick the $h!t out of them is just showing how small your balls are. Anybody can be tough on the internet. It's not impressive. And if that's what people need to do to feel better about themselves, it's pretty pathetic. If somebody wants to fight so bad, go get drunk and get in a fight somewhere-- do the rest of us a favor and get arrested so we can get a reprieve from their stench.

Sorry guys. I'm part of it. I just can't sit with my hands under my a$$ with people spewing over 1 players accomplishments (LJ) in this win. This was a total team effort and just an awesome win. I was really impressed with Patterson and Williams, the Brandons, DJ, Huard, and yes, LJ. Special teams were awesome. I hope Savage earned his job back.
Heres hoping for another 200 yards out of LJ in Charlotte....

Ok agreed. But, we just win a great game. LJ runs all over the place and you got some clown sayin how he sucks and how he couldnt even out run Champ Bailey and Dre Bly. Did I honestly want to kick his ***? NO. Did it piss me off? Hell yeah. And it should piss you off too! And anybody else that has to drop the excitement of thier favorite team because some jackoff wants to rip on them no matter what. That doesnt sound like a Chiefs fan. REMINDER: This is a Chiefs forum.

And remember, rather they sound like it or not, they are Chiefs fans.
You don't have to love every coach/player/GM/member of the team, to be a fan of the team.
