Looking for info on Ted Washington Sr.

Washington was one of the Chiefs' 1972 draft picks. He was later traded to the Oilers (or released by the Chiefs?) in time to play in Houston's 1973 season-opener.

Anyone know the exact date (or, at least the month) when he was traded and/or let go by the Chiefs? Did Washington play any preseason games for KC? I'm inquiring to help narrow down the date of a KC Chiefs autographed football.

The Chiefs took Washington with the 439th(17thd-23rdpick) pick in the 1972 draft.

The 1972 draft was held Feb 1-2, 1972.

The regular season started on Sept 17, 1972.

So the trade would have taken place during that time.
