According to PFT, Carl Peterson could be the first guy off the market and on his way to Miami. I just didn't see that coming.

It’s unclear if Bill Parcells will exercise the escape clause in his contract with the Dolphins, but Carl Peterson may have something to do with his decision. The former Chiefs G.M. is close to new Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and, according to Adam Schefter, people around the league are convinced that Peterson is headed to Miami “sooner rather than later.”

Ross owned the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL and Peterson was their general manager. Peterson’s teams compiled a 48-13-1 record and he won two USFL Executive of the Year awards.

That makes Peterson the likely successor if Parcells decides to leave. It could also increase the likelihood that the Tuna takes his money and runs. If Parcells stays, Ross could hire Peterson in another capacity and create a situation where Parcells has less decision-making power.

I'm glad he's gone and don't care where he ends up. But if he had a hand in pushing Parcells our way, then that would be just fine by me.

Another interesting note I read on PFT said the appearance of Matt Millen on the NBC coverage yesterday was a precursor to him being Chris Collinsworth's replacement in the studio as them move Collinsworth to the booth with Al Michaels to replace John Madden who will be retiring from broadcasting.

But wait, that's not the best part...

According to PFT, John Madden will go back to the Raiders to become a Parcells type figure in their front office.

I know that we're supposed to hate the Raiders and everything, but good lord, I LOVE AL DAVIS!!!

And the Jets will cut Favre and he'll rejoin the Packers to take them to their next superbowl...no, bad

I'm sorry, Madden should stay retired. I think he'll hurt this legacy if he comes back. But he may actually know something about football. So I also do not want him to come back because no one wants the Raiders to become a good team.

ESPN is reporting that Parcells will not opt out and he will stay in Miami.

if you read the article, that doesn't really matter. CP could still join the front office and take some of the responsibilities away from Parcells.

I'm not sure why any franchise would want Peterson making any kind of decisions for them...

I want Bill to stay and be happy. Carl go find a job some where else. Ma'am would you like paper or plastic. Please stay away from my beloved Dolphins, we are finally on the right track.:toast2:
