Haley did a little Q&A at the Combine. Mostly vague non-committal answers. Here it is for you to enjoy:

A lot of questions, zero answers. Guess we'll play the waiting game a little longer.

Sweet baby jesus, does this guy work for a political team? I've never heard so many vague answers. If you're not gonna tell me anything don't memorize 15 lines and regurgitate them to me, just tell me I can't or won't say anything and move on.

Welcome to your NEW Kansas City Chiefs. We asked for change ... and we got it ... at least off the field. We will have to see if this translates into a change on the field too.

he answered the questions perfectly. what do you guys honestly expect after he's been in the system for a few weeks? do you want him to tell us everything is going to be awesome and how exactly we will do it?

Agreed. We probably know more about our team than Haley at this point...

The guy just inherited a 2-14 Hermdebacle and you want definitive answers? Cut him some slack. Let him get thru free agency & the draft.

Maybe cause the want to keep what they are doing secret.

“You are what you are,” he said. “Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs won two games. That’s what they were last year. This year is a new year. I’m going to be about trying to win games, do everything possible to give us a chance to win games. It’s going to start with one. Right now, we haven’t won a game here as the Kansas City Chiefs, and that’s going to be our goal, to figure out how to win one game.”

Well it's a start, so let's give him some time and well, we know he and Pioli have spending money and lets just see what happens!!!!

Well Herm would talk to anybody, anytime, for as long as you wanted to ask questions. But in 3 years he didn't really say a F'ing thing either. I'm cool with less lip service as long as they get the job done.

Funny, 2 months later and I still can't start one reply without throwing Herm under the bus. I may need professional help.

Thats right! Haley got a lot of stuff to deal with. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now - as long as he doesn't go Hermicidle on us...:bananen_smilies046:

From the looks of this interview Haley is giving everyone a clean slate and if they prove out not to be what they are looking for they go and if not they stay. As far as LJ he stated he spoke with LJ directly and so far they have not released him and also have a new RB coach named Maurice Carthon who may be able to work with LJ so maybe they are keeping him around. The reporters keep asking the same questions and it always brings alot of the same answers especially when nothing has been happening news wise with the Chiefs, maybe the reporters should try to be a little more creative with their interview as Haley isn't going to say anything that will create controversy or negativity within his team and that is what the reporters are looking to dig up.

My name is Chris.

I am giving him slack, but at this point, why parade him out to not give answers to questions? If you're nowhere near ready to answer questions, don't put the poor guy in front of a very curious press group.

Seemed like a waste of time.

Our GM will get respect when he earns the respect! I am very hopefull that he will lead us to greatness but he has not earned the respect as a Chief yet...

Give him time I think we will be happy with the results he brings to our beloved Chiefs!!!

I certainly like the stuff that Pioli has done so far but respect will come from me when I start seeing results in the form of wins and Division, Conference and World Championships.

He's done those things several times in the last 10 years.:bananen_smilies046:

Yes he has, too bad it wasn't for our Chiefs . when he does those things for us I will give it up :D :bananen_smilies046:

So you don't respect Jerry Rice cause he neverplayed for the Chiefs? How about Barry Sanders, Walter Payton. Don Shula. There are plenty of football guys out there worthy of respect. Chiefs or not. I repspect what Pioli has done and I hope he does it for the Chiefs. :bananen_smilies046:

I'm not making plays on anyones words. I am just talking about respecting the guy. Some people said he needs to earn their respect. I already respect what the guy has done and I hope it continues. Thats all.

I guess we see a difference in love vs respect. I love the Chiefs as much as the next guy here but I also love the game of football and I respect anyone who has accomplished as much as someone like Pioli has. I Respect the guy but I don't love him. Bring home the Lombardi and I will love him!!:bananen_smilies046:

Nice post, thanks. I think Pioli is going to do great. He has my respect. I also think Curry would be a great pick for us.

Most of his answers were so vague that I wondered why he agreed to the interview. You know, he would make a great politician! Here are some of the vague answers, so vague that they made me laugh.

(About Gailey) “Well, again we’re just at the beginning stage of evaluation, and that’s what the staff is going through now. I think that any time there’s a familiarity or continuity, in some respects, I think it’s always good for the player...”
(Thought as a football team) “That’s a tough question to answer...'
(defensive)“We’re still in a state of flux. Once again, I’m trying to do my best to get as many good coaches into the building and on to the Chiefs staff as I can...'
(done with defensive side?)“I can’t say...”
(more speculation on defense staff)“Again, there’s some fluidity on the defensive side and that’s why I’ve been a little vague on who’s doing what right now..."
(LJ and Carthton) “We are at the early stage of the evaluation of what we have..."
(can Maurice coach LJ)“With all situations, there are solutions..."
(WR = impact players) “Well, I think all players can be impact players..."
(calling the plays?)“Again, I’m not even done trying to get the staff together..."
(impression of chiefs?) “You are what you are..."
(good foundation?)“It’s not fair of me to comment..."

Cut him a break. He has only been with the team for a couple of weeks. And the Chiefs have been off work since last year. Im sure there isnt to many players hanging around the facility for some time now. And to evaluate the team means he needs to watch the film on the players and get to know them. I bet if someone asked him what he thought of the Arizona Cardinals, he could give you the break down of everyone on that team (even the waterboy lol ).

Love and respect are hand and hand, When I deside I respect then the love is already there. I want the Lombardi and if Pioli and Haley get it for us, they will get both from, you can see it how you wish my friend ;) :bananen_smilies046:

No they aren't. I respect my boss but I don't love him. There is a big difference.
