Pioli mention on a interview with NFL network that he is under contract and has no situation.

That makes me wonder if he has talked to LJ already or not. I thought LJ would provide the best way to get more draft picks for us on draft day. But how Pioli is talking is that it appears that he wont have any problems with LJ.

here is his interview NFL Video Galleries (http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80ee4c87)

This could be one of those situations where the GM is saying "Hey butthead, you have a contract, I expect you to live up to that contract!"

That is what I would be saying, especially considering what little trade potential LJ has.

I'm sure that you shouldn't try to read too much into all the talk that's going on right now. That statement could mean anything. The only sure thing you can say about it is that it's true, he is still under contract. We'll have to wait and see on this one, but I can't imagine LJ staying put. It probably wouldn't be good for anybody.

My belief is Pioli knows the potential that is sitting in front of him when used properly and is simply saying, LJ signed the dotted line and as any professional would he needs to meet that contract and have faith in the system around him. This makes me like Pioli a little bit more and maybe , just maybe we can get our money worth outta LJ after all :D

Thats what im hoping for. i really dont want LJ to leave. But if they cant resolve his wanting to leave KC. I dont want him to sit on the sidelines and be in the dog house all season long.

i feel so much better that Pioli is at the helm here. He appears (football IQ) smart and confident about what he wants.

If LJ gets the ball and his yards/td's he will shut up. And if that happens the Chiefs will be a better team. So...let's hope that all happens.

IMO i think it was the Hunts that put him in the dog house for his antics. How is it going to look when after you have been given the biggest contact that the chiefs have ever given out, and then he goes and makes the city his own punching bag. He got what he deseved no let him out and put a tear thru the league. He must man up first and admit he was wrong.

Chiefs | Pioli could trade draft picks
Mon, 23 Feb 2009 06:38:20 -0800
Randy Covitz, of The Kansas City Star (http://www.kffl.com/link/142), reports Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.kffl.com/team/21/nfl) general manager Scott Pioli (http://www.kffl.com/player/20980/nfl) is not attached to the third overall pick in the NFL Draft (http://www.kffl.com/link/159). Pioli could be open to trade the pick for additional draft picks. "Even though we're three, we could be at 23," Pioli said at the NFL Scouting Combine (http://www.kffl.com/link/183). "Even though you're at 23, you could be at three. The draft strategy is know the entire board, know all the players, know there might be opportunities to manipulate the draft board, moving up or down, and gain draft picks or give away draft picks to get veteran players. … The whole thing is very fluid."

The facking money LJ got and a starting position was supposed to stop his desire to leave but we seen how far that got us! LOL!

The O-line was being depleted as soon as he signed that contract. last couple of years he has been dancing behind the line.

You mean seeing a defender coming at him and falling behind the line? The only game I thought he ever really tried in the last few years was the first Denver game this year.

I can give you a couple of mulligans there but when he falls down at the mere sight of meeting a defender AND he slaps women around and spits his drink in their face...Can't let that one slide.

He got paid to play, be a good boy off the field and be "team first" oriented. He came up short. Period.

Yeah in "07" he got hurt, and "08" he got put in the dog house. I dont care to much for his off the field antics either. He cant be traded straight up. IMO it would have to in a block trade. The only team i can see trying go get him is the Pats. What else can be done with him? but, sticking the rock in his mouth and make him earn his way out of the dog house.

He was having a great game againt MIA. but they stopped feeding him the rock. He would have gutting those fish if he was given the chance. The past couple of years he was given only a few chances to help this team. When we feed him the rock more that 20 times a game we are 6-2. hmm let me see that the whole number of games we have won in the past couple of years.

I shall say it again.
LJ runs into blockers and falls down or makes a beeline to the sideline.
LJ is 30 with a huge contract and a bad attitude.
LJ assualts and spits on women.
LJ is cooked.
LJ sucks a$$.

LJ don't give a crap about the Chiefs. LJ is all about LJ. LJ wants to be a rap star!! I say try and trade him for ..... ahhhhhhh....a steaming pile of dog sh!t. I doubt we'll get that trade though. Just cut this clown and eat his contract. Ship him and his Bentley out of KC for good!!
BTW - it takes a TEAM to win - not a washed up RB.:bananen_smilies046:

so whats wrong with the rest of the team when they dont give LJ more than 20 touchs? are they just buying there time? waiting for the one shot one kill moment. LJ is the team. Why do you think he has that contract?

He has this 47 mil dollar contract because Peterson is a dumba$$ who got shipped outta here.
LJ is the team??? Are you kidding me???
Maybe 3 years ago....LJ is cooked.
Also the main reason I don't like LJ is because I don't like men that assault women.
Besides - he SAID he wants out. Let him go already...

His third arrest for assault came on February 24 (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/February_24), 2008 (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/2008), after allegedly pushing a woman's head at a nightclub on February 24 (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/February_24).

On October 10, 2008, Johnson was arrested for the fourth time and charged with one count of non-aggravated assault for allegedly spitting a drink in a woman's face at a Kansas City nightclub on Oct. 10. The woman involved, Ashley Stewart, has since filed a civil suit (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/Lawsuit) against Johnson, accusing him of negligence (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/Negligence), assault and battery (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/Assault_and_battery), intentional infliction of emotional distress (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/Intentional_infliction_of_emotional_distress) and negligent infliction of emotional distress (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/Negligent_infliction_of_emotional_distress).
It was announced on Oct. 16, 2008, that Johnson would be deactivated for the October 19 (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/October_19) game against the Tennessee Titans (http://www.chiefscrowd.com/wiki/Tennessee_Titans) in response to violating an undisclosed team rule. The team said his suspension for this game was unrelated to the newest criminal investigation.

LJ didnt kill anyone. Yeah he got what he deserved. now just shovle that rock up his a** and earn his contract.

I'll agree with you there. Just because I don't like the guys character doesn't mean he can't be a good football player for us. I just think his best years are behind him.:bananen_smilies046:

LJ is either going to be traded for value or given the ball and told to earn his contract.

Unlike other players recently released, there is little sense in out-right releasing the fella aside from the bitter animosity many take out on him as a result of both his actions and our recently L/W record.

Despite what many may believe, we are not set at the back position and to rid ourselves of our best player at the position is ridiculous.

If he can't turn things around, on the field or off, we get rid of him next year... costs less against the cap and possibly we have players set at the position.

HB is one of the areas on our team that is not beset with youth problems. Although, the leadership coming from the position is horrendous.

***IMO, please don't kill me.***

Financially, our best option for LJ is to let him play out his contract on the field. We'll see what Pioli/Haley has in mind for this clown...

Im with you. i think LJ is our best option to start winning games. Thigpen cant put the team on his back. Sure he is an idiot (LJ). but tell his daddy to tell him to hike his boots up and get out of the dog house. I hope he turns his act around. but if not, keep him in dog house and let him rot.

If we start winning, I can guarantee it won't be because of LJ. It will be because of a new winning philosophy that Pioli/Haley will bring to this team. And of course an overhauled defense...

:D hey, im hoping for the same thing here. i just dont want to see our best option for winning games here wasted. you think LJ is a waste and i dont. to me he has been miss managed. by the team and himself. Hopefully all of that is cleared up by Pioli. Im sure you wouldnt mind seeing LJ as his old self and tearing up the league.:bananen_smilies046:

He has talent nobody can dispute that, give him another shot and see how he does!

He has the potential to be a superstar, give him the right tools and he will be in the Pro Bowl....

If the Chiefs can get good value in a trade for him, then I think they trade him. But if they can't, he stays. Haley and Pioli will make him work. However, I'm more interested to see how the Chiefs use Charles this season.
