Center Rudy Niswanger is one of the Chiefs' three potential restricted free agents. They made him a tender offer today of about $1.5 million, which gives the Chiefs the right to match any offer Niswanger receives and a second-round draft pick if they decline to match.

That is good because he is versatile at guard or center.

What is the big woop about a center? Any guy can pass a ball between his legs. Why pay him 1.5 million to do that? Now Casey W. made the position his own, even though all he did was what other centers did but he did it with a certain panache.

Not everyone can play center. The center is usualy the smallest O lineman for a reason. While he is focusing on snapping the ball, some big ugly is trying to take his head off. The center has to be quick on his feet to pick up his man. He is also the person calling the plays for the OL.
Niswanger is a good player but to tall to play center. He will be a very good RG.
