Chiefs To Work Out DE/OLB

Everette Brown Profile (http://profootball.scout.com/a.z?s=127&p=8&c=1&nid=3661431)

The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to have a private workout for Florida St. DE/OLB Everette Brown soon, Scout.com has confirmed.

Brown, widely believed to be the best pass rusher available for this year's NFL draft, left Florida St. as a Junior and posted 13.5 sacks to go along with 21.5 tackles for losses in his final season at the school.

Kansas City's need for pass rush help is obvious based on last year's league-low sack total of 10. The Chiefs hold the third overall selection in the first round.

So then is this guy in the draft or did he leave school early and now he isn't in the draft? I don't know much about him .

he's in the draft. He earned his degree in 3 years and is being compared to Demarcus Ware

He would be alright. But at #3? Is he rising that fast? Not doubting at all he would be nice pick. A trade down scenario? they say he can play either 'hand up' or down. He would look better with an arrowhead on his helmet as a spearhead(FSU) and he would be used to the 'Chant'....I don't know. I'm leaning toward the O-line if Smith and Monroe do not go 1-2. Still a whole month off, but we'll all continue speculating until then.

It definitely sounds like a man we can use. We need a good pass rush, no doubt about it.:D

Brown is a nice player, but don't think he is worth a # 3. I really hope we can trade down, but I just don't see that happening. So if we pick at 3, I say we take Monroe or Curry, whichever is left. Hopefully they're not both gone then.

I don't believe he is consistent enough for a #3 spot. Crabtree baby...

KC would be silly to pass up on Aaron Curry at #3 (that is if the Rams don't take him).

I'm definatley in the Curry, Monroe, Smith camp and I belive Crabtree is going to be awesome in the NFL. But if we were to draft a WR wouldn't Macklin fill more needs for the Chiefs, IE: Speed and a awesome return man. He's not a #3.

I say Curry, Brown or Monroe. Pioli has got to be looking at the sack total from last year. I think we can trade outta the 3 spot and get Brown but I'm worried about taking Curry without a good D line already in place. I like him but I don't think he will produce as quickly as we like without a great D line.

I think the Engram signing pretty much rules out Crabtree...

Trading down for Everette Brown would be a wise decision, especially if we can get another 2nd or 3rd round pick out of it...

I think Brown (on our defense) would post about 7, maybe 8 sacks....Curry i think would post about 5 or 6 and 100+ tackles....stay with no.3 and DRAFT CURRY, we can still get pressure on the QB with our linebackers..

Curry is rated as maybe the best pick of the draft, thus with the Chiefs having the 3rd pick and Haley and Pioli checking others out I am suspecting they have an inside edge that Curry will be taken by the Lions or the Rams, so with that in mind I think Brown would be a good choice. Now if the Jets can work out a deal for Cutler, our chances inprove even better for the AFC West race.
