So back in 2007, I quit my job cause I had another one lined up. The even gave me a start date. 2 days before I was suppose to start they called and said they couldn't hire me. I was out of job, no big deal cause I didn't really need money at the time. So I saw there was a concert coming to town and I wanted to go. I had money saved up, so I bought my self a ticket. Not long after I received the ticket in the mail, I got a cal for an interivew. I got the job shortly before the concert. Later down the road in Nov. 2007 I was making good money, and decided to buy a new car. Then a few people quit who worked with me and new people took there place. They started treating me like crap, and I quit. I asked for my old job back, which I should have done long before I ever started that job. I was getting almost no hours there. This time I needed money cause I had bought the car.

Then I saw another concert I wanted to go to. I was like, I really want to go, but can't really afford much of it. I broke down and bought tickets. A few weeks later I recieved the ticket in the mail, followed shortly by a call about a job. I accepted the job. I was working there from Febaury to April. I hated the job, the expected so much and I couldn't keep up. Unfornatly I had bought tickets for Rockfest back before I gotten fired. The ticket was already paid for and I received it a week before they fired me.

Soon it was summer, and more concerts were on the way. I really wanted to see Linkin Park. I was working this part time job, but I was making $150 a month. I did save up alot before I had gotten fired. Anyways, I buy the LP tickets, and guess what. Few weeks later, I had an interview. Shortly followed by a job offer. I accepted. A few months goes by and in November, they announced that the station was closing down. We lasted all the the way until January of this year. January 4th was our last day. Soon, I had received a check for $2000 for severance. I cleary had enough saved for about 8 months of what I need.

Rockfest rolls around again and as always, I buy the pre sale tickets. $15 bucks. I got the tickets in the mail a few weeks ago. Week and a half goes by, and guess what. AN INTERVIEW. The said they would call me back shortly. And this time they did. I had gotten another job mysteriously. Its freaking me out a bit.

Is this just irony or is it something bigger?

While that is a huge coincidence, I think this one can be chalked up to the time of the year in which the concerts are held. In most industries, the summer time is one of the busiest times of all the seasons, seeing as kids are out of school, and people are generally out more, purchasing more. So I'm guessing because your concert tickets were probably anywhere from Spring to Fall, that you got a job each of these times due to demand.

The jobs that I have had aren't really seasonal. Pizza Shoppe, DHL, Argosy Casino, and now Sherwin Williams.

No, Im not saying their seasonal jobs. I study business, and in the summer time (a.k.a when your concerts take place) people consume more of everything, because their not stuck in their houses. A.K.A Shipping, Going out to eat or a casino, painting their homes.

I'll be stuck in my house most of the time simply because I ain't got the extra money to spend like I've had in years past...

I hear that, it's not going as far as it used to anymore. Me being laid off doesn't help. I started fishing again, as a good way to get my family and me out doing something, Cheaply.

I watched my 401k drop another 450 dollars last month. And theres nothing I can do about it. If I pulled it out its a 30 percent tax hit. What a joke.
And since nobodys buyin nothing, nobodys shippin nothing. Thats another 20,000 dollar salary hit in my profession. And a probable layoff in the near future.
Add all this up and we arn't spending money on nothing but food, gas, and bills. Nothin extra.
Needless to say this economy is a long way from recovery. Its amazing to me that I can't buy a toy, shirt, a pot/pan, or a refridgerator thats made in this country - and people wonder what happened to our economy and our jobs.

No, Pizza Shoppe was ok, I just wanted more money. I only quit cause a midwest was pulled on me.
Tanners and Argosy pissed me off.

DHL wasn't bad, I just wasn't making the money I was working for

What's a midwest?
Oh  Its a phrase I coined

I applied at Midwest Airlines for the ramp agent position. I had an interview, then a few days later they called me back for another one. Then they said they were going to contiune to hire me, so they had me come in and fill out W2's and all that crap.

Then 2 days before I was suppose to start, they called me and said they couldn't hire me. I had already bought work boots and everything. Thus the phrase "midwest" was born.

Really pissed me off though.
