I am a die hard Chiefs fan and am finally flying into KC to watch our beloved Chiefs play Oakland (sept 20). I have been a fan since the Deron Cherry days but have always went to sports bars or ordered Directv to watch the games over the years. I am obviously beside myself at the chance to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead.

I am needing to know some info before I buy tickets to the game.

I want to sit in the 100 level on the Chiefs side (sections 116 thru 121 -don't wanna have to look at the backside of Raider pukes during the game)

1) Is there a row too low that the players block the view of the game? Trying to get as close as I can, but with having an unobstructed view.. what has been your experince in regard to aa good close seat

2) Any suggestions on what Hotel I can stay at to simply walk to the game?

Thanks in advance guys and gals

Holiday inn sports complex is across the street from Arrowhead. You can look up a few hotels and use Arrowhead as a landmark and gte places that are close. (there are about 4 close hotels) there is not a bad seat in the stadium and if u r looking for some people to party with, send me a message. There will be a bunch of us there partying/tailgating!!

Ditto Canada on the good view from about any seat. However, if you are taller than 5' 8" and/or weigh more than 200lbs, don't plan on getting comfortable in the seats. However, with the changes being made to the team, I am sure there will be a lot of cheering while standing up!

IMO, the best sets in the house are top level, right against the railing........on the 50 yard line.

I only made it there once, we stayed at the Drury Inn right across from ARROWHEAD. you can look out your window and stare at it until you fall asleep, i was to excited to sleep. hotel was very nice and they have a free breakfast area where you can make your own waffles from batter. i luv waffles!!! and on gameday the hotel is filled with CHIEFS fans in full regalia. it was so cool!!! we walked to the game. i can highly recomend it. you can look them up on line , they are a chain.

Is that the one right beside the Denny's? I wanted to check that one out too.

As far as the seats, u do get a better view from up high, but I like filed level. Get into the party. near the players is awesome!! I personally love the end zone seats. Hard to see half the game but it s great when they are coming towards you!!

I have the ability to buy 2 tickets in section 118 or 120; although not cheap I am interested in buying (figure spending a little money on my first game tickets at arrowhead is OK). Anyways, they are row 2... is that almost too close to where I will be looking at KC's backs the entire time and can't watch the game?

If Anyone can tell me the lowest row I can sit and still see over the players and close to the action would be appreciated

I am only 5'9, but figured (hoping) that I will be jumping out my seat for the majority of the game. I heard somewhere about having to be up a certain amount of rows or you couldn't see anything, so I wanted to check

I was in row 9 two years ago and I was waaay above all the players. I can't say from personal experience what the seats are like but I doubt they would have any seat that is not able to see the game. you might not see all the action at both ends of the field as well but it will be awesome in front of you!! :bananen_smilies046:

You can sit at row one and see above the players at your height but if you get the seats behind the Oakland bench there will be a lot (and I mean A LOT) of hecklers that day!

I only get bottom level seating every now and then when a friend gets tickets and can honestly say all the seats are good.

But I agree with honda the best seats (and where my season tickets are) is top level next to the railing. I don't have 50 yard line, just a little to the left :P

Oh man there are almost no bad seats at arrowhead! the loudest and most storied stadium in the NFL. I stayed at the holiday inn at the sports complex right across from the stadium, it was an awesome experience, but just so you know, arrowhead is way on the outskirts of KC, so its a bit of a cab ride away from fun KC nightlife bars.

Also, BE PREPARED AND BUY YOUR BEER THE NIGHT BEFORE THE GAME!!! There is this rule in KCMO that you can't buy beer before 10:00 AM on sundays!

Arrowhead is the greatest home a chiefs fan could ever ask for. I almost became a Royals fan by proxy.

IMO thats the worst seats in the house, mainly cause when the ball is at the other end, you can't really see whats going on.

Dude, I am 5'5" I have been in most of the sections, not really but you know I have been like in the Endzone and other various point of views and your height shouldn't effect you.

A. )There is no row that is "too low" and obstructs your view from players on the bench....the first row is high enough that you see over the players bench (think when they give high fives walking in at halftime)...

B.) In my opinion, anywhere closest to the 50 yard line (row isnt as big of a deal to me...) is the best, as you can see all the action...endzone seats have a little more "party" atmosphere to them i think...but obviously you sacrifice a half of good football to watch, so whatever tickles your fancy...

as far as hotels, i cant really comment on that because i have never had to stay in one after the game, i just go home :)

I only sit in the lower level for preseason games. I buy tickets in the end zone for about 15 dollars each, then move to the 50 yard line in the second half, right behind the Chiefs bench.

For regular season, I prefer the upper levels, but not above row 15 if possible. Sections in the 320's (322-326) are what I like the best, in the middle of the field with an awesome view of the whole stadium. I have got lucky the past two years and bought tickets at face value from a guy. They were in section 321, row 5. Great Seats!!

In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with any seat in Arrowhead. Every seat is great and the atmosphere is just mind blowing. And when the planes or Stealth Bomber flies over? Goosebumps, everytime!! HOME OF THE CCCHHHIIIEEEFFFSSS!!!

good info guys, I appreciate it. Sounds like if I get tickets anywhere they will end up being great...maybe not so much on the corners up high, but everything else is good. I think that will help me get tickets. I knew that I wouldn't want to be behind the Raiders, as I would want to spit and/or puke having to look over them the whole game :-)

Behind the raiders bench makes no difference because you are in a sea of red . don't shy away from one side if the prices are different The visitors side is the sunny side so if its a hot day , prepare to drink some beer. and if its a cold day, its nice not to be in the shade. I was behind the dolphins bench last year and it was like 10 below wind chill. My beer was freezing in my cup. I cant imagine how cold it was on the Chiefs side in the shade that day.I go to priceline.com and got the Sheraten across the road from Arrowhead. The rooms are very, very, nice. I put in sports complex for the area and 3+ stars for the type of hotel and I got my last two rooms for $50 a night. Its very well worth the money. There is a Denny's right across the street so breakfast is easy. Stay away from the breakfast buffet at the Shreraten, its expensive and really not that good. ( from what I hear ). Oh and take a right coming out of the Shreaten and its like two blocks to Sports Nutz which is a place you must visit as a chiefs fan .On Saturdays before the games they would have one or two of the players come and sign autographs and had live music, food, entertainment from Like from 12 to 4 .So in my opinion, The Shreraten(sp?) the holiday in sports complex, or the drury Inn are all within a block or two from Arrowhead. If you get a chance go to LC's BBQ its friggen awsome. Its a little place ( kind of a dive ) but the food is sooo good. Authentic KC BBQ at its best. and its just a few miles from the Hotel. I try to go to a different BBQ place everytime I go to Arrowhead and Its the best so far. Gates, Bandannas, and a few others dont even compare to it.the Burnt ends are the bomb. http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=2640

Thanks for the info guys...September couldn't come soon enough. I will be hitting a few places that you mentioned.... I love me some good food. Sounds like Sports Nutz is gonna take all my money because living out of state its hard to find good chief gear. Canada mentioned sports nutz too...so I will be there.

Loved thos videos on youtube, you are my kind of people. I will definately stay in touch as I would love to meet you guys and have a blast at the game.

I most likely will get my tickets from stubhub too. yeah it is a little spendy, but its worth it to me. Just trying to figure out where the hell I am gonna sit.

I have narrowed it down to:

Section 118 almost half way up (row 18) OR Section 110 (row 1). I obviously wanna have good tickets for my first game (bring the wife too) so the 118 tickets would be great, but how can I ignore row 1 behind the goal posts....ah decisions decisions

Honestly If It was me , Traveling that far , Go get seats towards center. If your wife is with you ,you will be happy you did. Endzone seats are cool as hell when the games near you coming at you. Center of the field you get to see the plays open up and get to see more of the game.Im a bigfan of seeing the plays from both points of view rather than watching it from one end especially if it means behind the goalposts. Just my two cents.

Thanks YZILLA, I think you may be right. What row do you like sitting in? Obviously I am going back and forth with up as close as I can (row 2-9) or up a little bit to see more of the field (20-30). What do you think? Realizing that either would be great, just want your take

to add to my last post I am looking at sections 118-119-120. Again I don't think there would probably be a bad seat in those sections, just trying to get a feel if its best to sit low, middle or high in that section for best viewing. haha, am I overthinking this or what?? I just wanna make sure I get the best seats possible. Thanks for your input

I had row 9 behind the Chiefs for the opener against Min two years ago and my seats were awesome. A little hard to see the inside corners of each endzone but that was about it. Everything else was great!!

ask these guys about some local spots to, we went to a great little sports parafanalia store i think was called Sports Nutz. i started gabbin w/one of the owners, a guy from Warpath "magazine" and a local cop, before i knew it they were turning off the lights and vaccuuming the carpet around us. and some really great BBQ places. i can't remember the name of the one we all went to but they were selling frozen ribs & steaks at the airport from the same place.

Sports Nutz is awesome!! The guys there are great and they don't care if you just hang out and shoot the sh!t all day!! And they have tons of Chiefs stuff. Its kinda like being in a museum because he has some really cool (and expensive) stuff. Old school helmets, autographed SB footballs. Its wild.

I have sat everywhere in Arrowhead, I even got to stand on the sidelines and honestly I liked thesecond deck across from the media center where the TV people are. You can see all of the plays open and you can also if it starts to rain you can get under the roof from the floor of the 3rd deck. You would have to leave your seats to do that but if it's raining hard it's better than getting wet LOL.
Everywhere???? That is rather hard to believe.

I have had seat in the first few rows. It is really cool because you get to see the players up close and when plays happen near your seat, you feel like you can practically reach out and grab them. I would personally recommend getting at least 10 rows up, but that is just my opinion. Agreed, no bad seats, just different views.

YZILLA
05-06-2009, 11:32 PM
Agreed , Even up about 20 rows is great ! I would definately get towards the middle though. I sat in section 102 Row 26 on the Aisle and it was the best seats Ive ever had ( even though it was on the Dolphins side ) But the sun was on that side. and It was coooooooold that day.The further back in the lower level the better The view of the game in my opinion. You get too close and you lose the corner of the endzones on your side. You wont regret it. Honestly I have sat in the endzone and its pretty cool, but you miss alot of the plays on the other end of the field. Stay from about the 20 to the 20 and your goldenAnd then find me in the Parking lot and we will pound a few beers. As a 24 oz cup of beer inside is like almost $8 . Any questions PM me and I will tell ya everything that I know . I hit about 7 games a year if possible.

NIIIICE. Thanks for the info. I am on the lookout for 118-119-120 sections, and gonna look for someting 15-30 rows up. I will definately try to link up with you in the parking lot, I have spend many many years celebrating (as well as being sad, pissed etc) all by myself. Looking forward to meeting true chief fans
