Well its official, Jason Taylor took less money to return to his home in South Florida. It was a nice romance in our thoughts of possibility getting him, but its all good. We can still get some good free agents, we just need to step it up.

One yr, $1.1mm???

Seems like a team like the Chiefs that is desperate for pass rushers with 3-4 experience and a team that is flush with cap room would have made an offer better than that.

In the interview I read, Taylor said" Whatever money you guys can give me, that's fine, lets just get the deal done" So obviously, he always had plans on going back to Miami. Oh, well hopefully Hali will get back to being a pass rusher.

You're right. He's always been a warm weather guy and his family lives in the Miami area. He didn't want to go any place else.

Or maybe he didn't want to come here? I'm fine with passing up Jason Taylor. What I read was:

1) that he was looking to end his career where he started it

2) Looking to stay close to home.

JT is done after this year you heard here first.

Taylor sees this year as his last real shot at a ring. Miami is an up-and-coming division winner. Where he played for over a decade and where his family and friends are. He doesn't need the money.

We could have offered him triple and we would not have gotten him.

Listening to 810 radio this morning they said that the Redskins offered him 8 million with a clause that he had to make the team. He left 7 million on the table to go back to Miami....KC never had a chance.

I don't think it was a money thing. i think it was all about location and family..I can respect that.

I think I would have taken that easy 8mil for 1 year, then after the season, I would have "nicely" asked the Dolphins if they would sign me to a zero value contract so I could retire as a Dolphin.

8mil is a lot of jack and I am sure JT will bust his *** much harder at Parcells camp! LOL!

I think KC was one of the few places outside of Miami he'd have considered because of Zach. If KC was looking like contender he might have taken the chance.
