I'm not defending LJ or his track record but I just have to point out Vrabel if we're going to talk about OTA's. I'm more concerned about who is going to show up for the the mandatory practices and mini camps (hint hint Brian Waters).

Only time will tell if LJ learned anything. He's skating the fine line here between a lot of money and a lot of 'no money'. I think he'll behave himself, he stands to lose more then the Chiefs do if he screws up this last chance.

Well, if he isn't drunk and he isn't causing any trouble or disturbing anyone, then there's nothing wrong with having a drink in Vegas!

Just like I don't care what any of the other Chiefs are doing right now... doesn't just pertain to LJ... even though i realize his douchebaggedness requires special attention... but again, just don't care.

I think LJ should be doing something better with himself than that, especially due to his track record. If I am not mistaken, he said the alcohol was a problem and that he had turned over a new leaf?

Hmmm....

Regardless, it will only take one more disruption for his days to be over in KC. So, I wish him luck!

LJ is of legal drinking age in all 52 states of the USA and I believe most or if not all of the entire world at this point. Drinking is not banned by the NFL and especially in Vegas, he is doing what every other person that goes to Vegas does, drinking, gambling and if not Married , getting laid or Married. If he was like 17 and without a guardian I would say kick him off and forget it but that isn't the case now is it?
Your right about that, but my understanding is part of his probabtion is not drinking here in MO. He has a big loop hole that should be filled.

Why is LJ out drinking when he has had problems with this in the past? And;
Isn't LJ supposedly turning over a new leaf to save himself and his career? And;
He left OTA's early to....

The only reason I care is because LJ is still a Chief. He should be getting in the shape of his life at this point.

So your saying that you wouldn't do the same thing if you were prohibited from drinking in MO. ? He can drink in Nevada because it is about 1500 miles away from Mo. I don't blame him as I would do the same thing if I was in Vegas, infact Vegas is one of 2 places I will drink alcohol, the other would be the Caribbean. I love a well prepared Miami Vice.
Can't say I don't drink. Either way to anyone turning the rumor down, why wouldn't it be true?

You think ESPN is going to share any news about the Chiefs, unless its something like TG being traded? I am not saying its true, but there is a 90% chance it is. And I know for fact they said he left early from OTA's.

Have you ever been to Vegas on a vacation? If not, let me fill you in on something.
Everyone that is of age goes to Vegas to do certain things,
----
1. Drink Alcohol as you can carry it from Casino to Casino without being thrown in jail unless your so drunk your an issue.
2. I mentioned casino which means people drink and gamble as they are both legal in Nevada to do in public.
3 . If Single, get laid or get married or BOTH!
----
I don't see anything wrong with what he did but it's no secret that you and Honda are his worst enemies on this site as you both have made your opinion clear in that.
The old LJ isn't back , he never changed! You can't change the spots on a leopard and thinking that because he got his hand slapped by a judge would make him act as if he is under a spell or that he has to stop living is crazy to even think for Gods Sake. He is simply doing what every other person in the world would do if they visit Vegas, Drink, Gamble and have fun, last time I checked that is still legal. Leaving OTA's are also not against any rules, they are voluntary.
LJ has been on vacation for almost 3 years now. Its time to get it right or get it out.
And I don't need to be filled in on anything. I work for the railroad and I was in Vegas for 18 months. I know exactly what people do in Vegas. You are missing the point entirely and I prefer not to explain it if you don't get it by now.

People who are trying to change and become "better people" do no do stuff like that. Fact is he is not allowed to drink in MO because he can't handle it. What makes you think it will be any dfferent somewhere else?

And I understand what you are saying also. I'm just saying appearances are everything. For somebody trying (supposedly) to turn his life and career around, drinking in public doesn't seem like the thing to do - especially considering the problems he's had with alcohol in the past. I can see how this kind of attitude and decision making could transfer to the football field. Its just my opinion. As i've said, if he wasn't a Chief I could could care a less what he does. If he was 26 years old and went to the pro bowl last year I could care a less what he does. He's already skating on thin ice and needs to devote this time to his teammates and to getting himself into the best football condition he is able.
Not out drinking in bars.
I'm sure few here share my opinion so let the thrashing begin!!!

i hate lj, as a person, and am not much of a supporter, EVER, of the guy...

But,

if we force him to earn his money, he will play with a chip on his shoulder, for t he first time in years...This helps Cassel and everyone else...

Is he a terrible blocker? Yes, so Charles has to come in on 3rd downs, maybe they run some 2 RB sets to improve passing in the flat, we will see.

You are absolutely correct. LJ is "allowed" to have a drink anywhere outside of MO. However, don't expect people to but into the "changes" LJ is making. I guess if u were discussing this with someone who smokes crack then it would be OK for LJ to smoke crack. Good logic!! :bananen_smilies046:
WTF?

First...I have never voiced my opinion on the subject one way or the other. I just said that if this is the way he chooses to behave then not to expect people to change their opinion of him.

Yes, we have all made mistakes. And we all pay for them. Personally, I could care less if LJ has a drink, snorts coke or shoots up with heroin. But the fact that he got drunk in a bar and slapped some girl in the face is the mistake that LJ made. Now he is paying for it.

He hasn't dealt with the consequences. Is he allowed to drink in MO or is that the consequence hs is dealing with right now?

...and all I have said is that if he wants people to think he has changed from the guy who was arrested by the law and suspended by the NFL then going out for a drink is not the best idea. Like I said, I could care less what LJ does, as long as he produces on the field. I don't like the guy (from what I know about him) and that will probably never change. I know it is legal for LJ to drink anywhere outside of MO, but his actions pretty much show that he is making no effort whatsoever to change his attitude.

Um, why are you all assuming the article is true? For all you know, the source is an idiot looking for attention.

Why do you assume it is not? Sure, it may be some idiot looking for attention....or it may be true. Since it was posted on ChiefsCrowd.com I decided to discuss it.

I hate to tell you people, but let LJ do his thing, and let Scott Pioli, His P.O and Todd Haley determine if this is even newsworthy or a violation of his probation. I am really not a big fan of when people put celebrities and athletes under a microscope, lets just let LJ live his life, and stop nagging and complaining about it here at the forums. I'm sorry to say but I think more people should just mind their business.

Are you not a member of this site? Do we not discuss the lives of these players every day? Or do you mean we should ignore the things they do wrong? As far as I know, LJ is doing "his thing" and it has become a topic of conversation here.

It almost seems like you are the one nagging us to stop talking about LJ. Hope you look good in a dress!! :bananen_smilies046:

Discuss it all you want. I don't care. I just thought it interesting that everyone was accepting the postings of some guy on another site as fact, without bothering to ask whether (1) the guy was making it up; or (2) the guy was wrong about it actually being LJ.

Could it be true? Sure. Could it be false? Sure. None of us know.

Not really. The thread author is suggesting that LJ be put on the practice squad. Half the people on the thread are saying no big deal that he was drinking. The other half are saying he should be cut. I haven't seen anyone ask if the report is true or not.

I hope it is false. It would appear that it is since there has been no action taken regarding the incident. I was more discussing the point that most people would be OK with LJs actions (if they were true) and how it would appear to fans.

Given that we can cut LJ without much in the way of ramifications, and given that LJ would find it very hard to get a salary elsewhere equal to what the Chiefs are paying him in 2009, I just don't see him doing much that Pioli/Haley don't want him to do, unless he's even bigger of an idiot than we think he is.

This leads me to think that (1) either Pioli/Haley don't care that LJs boozing it up in Las Vegas; or (2) the report is false. I dunno, (2) seems more likely than (1) to me.

But hey, everyone's entitled to their opinions. I would have bet a silver dollar that LJ would have been cut in February, so I've been wrong about his situation before.

In my personal opinion, I only care what these players do on the field, in the OTA's, and anything that affects their status as a Chief. And by the way it looks, LJ obviously has done nothing wrong otherwise their would be consequences.

And to battle a nagger one must become a nagger himself....jk. Anways, I do look very good in a dress:bananen_smilies046:

I think that what LJ does on his time and dime within the law is entirely up to LJ, and that the publics opinion of him, good or bad, will inevitably be a resulting consequence as a direct result of what may be reported in the media or rumored over the Internet (true or not). I also believe that this is a topic that has been hashed and rehashed in a thread that has seen it's better days and has run it's course.
