From the list below, who do you think will break-out and have a better season than expected?

I did throw in a back-up or two just in case!

You set this one up well! Cassel is obviously the best QB on that list.

Yes, I think he's better than the overrated Romo.

LOL, yeah i thought Cassel was the obvious one as well..

But im telling you to WATCH OUT for Matt Ryan...Tony G, Roddy White, Michael Turner, Jerious Norwood, that is a dynamic offense that can attack from all over the field...He will be the next big time QB....

And from what I am hearing out of Falcons camp, Ryan has improved tenfold in the offseason. All of his guys are giving him incredible praise on his work ethic, his intelligence and his time in the gym.

His guys are stoked for this season and rightfully so when considering their offensive weaponry.

My question is: Can the D answer the call?

We will see!

IMO we are already saying that Cassell will do well so if he has a breakout season (meaning he'll do better than we think) he'll be able to basicaly through for mile! :D

IMO the Defense was the best thing ATL had going for it. Sure Ryan looked good but when the defense is keeping the other team from getting points, any offense can look decent. That is why TG went to them, he thinks they are a SB team, I don't think so but what do I know eh? LOL!
IMO they can reach the SB in '09, but if they don't (and don't in TG's career years) I'm wondering what he's gonna be thinking. He changed team and didn't win a SB. IMO, if he wanted a SB ring he should've changed to a team that get's close each year (us soon to be) like pittsburgh or some team. I still think he should've stayed on the chiefs though!:bananen_smilies046:

I think Atlanta has a great shot at the SB, mostly because there just aren't many impressive teams in the NFC. Their biggest problem will be the Eagles.

Due to the confidence in the ratings for Matt Cassell, I hope you understand that this means you are saying that he will have a better year than he did last year!! Pretty tall order but I hope so!

Don't forget the Giants.I see the Bears being a huge surprise since they got Cutler now.
Ehh, the Giants really went down after they lost Burress, so I see them having an off year. Bears could surprise people though.

I put Brady Quinn...I think a few others Flacco, Cassell and Romo will have good seasons, but all of them have already done so. To me a 'breakout' season is the first time you've achieved a level. Cassell leaving the offense with Moss and company is going to struggle to put up the same level of numbers as he did. I think he'll be good, but doubtful he has a career year...same with Romo. As for Flacco he showed up as a rookie, but I don't like the surrounding cast that well and I think he ends up looking like Palmer in Cincy where he has to pass too much and can't be very efficient. I like the spot Quinn is in to win the job and as he hasn't started before, that would be the biggest step forward on that list...

I'd love to say Alex Smith (as a 49er fan) but frankly he's a system QB and isn't going to fit the power offense/play action scheme I expect out the 49ers this season.

If I wasn't a Chiefs fan I would definetely be a SF fan. I grew up actually a 49ers fan watching John Brodie. And now, how can you not like Singletary? As a middle linebacker, he put his heart and soul into every down - and it seems he hasn't changed much.
And I agree that bringing in Mangini will do nothing but help Quinn...
