RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Aug. 8, 2007) -- The Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.nfl.com/teams/news/KC) received some good news when they learned left tackle Damion McIntosh (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187597) will miss only four to six weeks with a sprained right knee.
The team initially feared the worst when McIntosh had to be taken off the practice field Aug. 6 on a motorized cart. But now he could be back in time to play in the Sept. 9 season opener at Houston.
If McIntosh is out for the full six weeks, he would miss the team's first two regular season games and likely return on Sept. 23 when Minnesota visits Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs signed McIntosh, a seven-year veteran who previously played with San Diego and Miami, before the season in hopes he could fill an a void at left tackle.
In the past two offseasons, the Chiefs have lost perennial Pro Bowl offensive linemen Willie Roaf (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/4158) and Will Shields (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/4256) to retirement.
While McIntosh recovers, third-year pro Will Svitek (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/552652), a former sixth-round draft choice and converted defensive lineman, will be the starter at left tackle.

Thanks goodness. That is great news for our O line. Got that off the Chiefs Website.

Well I guess it is good news relatively speaking; I'm not too hyped about him getting back to before the season opener. I would rather he took all the time necessary to get completely well.

i would rather him take the 6 instead of the 4 weeks. I am just glad he won't be out the entire season.
