R IVER FALLS, Wis. | The Chiefs tried everything short of turning the entire operation upside down as they labored the last few months to fix one of the NFL’s all-time worst defensive teams. They switched their base system to the 3-4; traded for or signed veterans Mike Vrabel, Zach Thomas and Mike Brown; drafted Tyson Jackson in the first round; and moved Tamba Hali to linebacker.
