Chiefs officials say enough tickets have been sold to avoid a local television blackout of Saturday night's preseason game against the Houston Texans.
The game will be televised live at 7 p.m. on Channel 5.
Other teams are not as fortunate. And this might be the sign of the times for the 2009 season.
The Chiefs haven't had a regular-season home game blacked out since 1991, a string of 149 straight games.
Maybe that strategy of requiring fans to buy exhibition game tickets if they want tickets to the Pittsburgh or Dallas regular-season games is working. :D

I just got the Sunday ticket also.... so.... in the event of a blackout do we (you in IA and me in MN) still get to see the game? Do the blackout rules only affect those in the 'local' viewing area?

I had Sunday Ticket for 5 years and for some reason Direct TV started to put things on our bill that we did not or could not have ordered. I made the choice to go with Dish Network because the Chiefs were losing and I needed a fresh way. You guys have something great just hope you don't need to deal with the problems I had.

We've never had any problems. Been lucky I suppose.

What do you mean by "blackout"? Like the stadium loses it's electricity? The TV station?
