DT DUH! :D

We would have the best pass rush in the NFL and probably have the best D.

It would have to be DT. With Jackson on the LE it would be like DT and Neal Smith.

Just to be different I would have to say Otis Taylor!!

Hey, we all know that DT will be the one everyone (or most) are gonna pick, how about we post what player you would want besides DT. I dont need to read 42 different posts that Say Derrick Thomas over and over!!

and before you go saying DUH, don't forget about the SB winning linebacker corps we had in 69-70

Buck Buchannon
Willie Lanier
Jim Lynch

I would take anyone of those guys.

Incidentally they were ranked the #4 linbacking corps of all time by NFL network, so maybe the decision isnt as easy as you think.

Thanks Canada! I actually should of put that in my post. I KNOW a lot of us would say D.T. I know he'd be at the top of my list as well.

so....with that said...OTHER THAN D.T.:bananen_smilies046:

(We'll just leave him in a league all his own) :D

I would LOVE to say Len Dawson but I guess after having signed a franchise qb to such a big contract there would be better holes to fill like with the aforementioned DT, Will Shields, Buck Buchanan, and OTIS TAYLOR!

How about we get Priest Holmes back in the condition he was in the first few years with us before his injury problems. That way we'll have him through the 2011 season which by then we'll REALLY be a powerhouse of a team again!

Lynn Elliott

Uh Oh. Lynn Elliot was the reason we didn't go all the way in '95. ("Lynn Elliot missed 5 FG attempts in a stunning 10-7 loss that sent the Colts to the AFC Championship.")

I loved Deron Cherry!

Hell, even if we didn't win he was still fun to watch him.

If I had to pick someone else I guess I would pick...Marc Boerigter. Atleast we would have a Deep Passing threat. 99 yard td pass!

Ha ha ha!!!

Do we even need to disucss this? If DT isn't an option then we all know who the next best player that's ever (EVER) worn a Chiefs Jersey is the one and only...

Kendall Gammon!

ITS A SNAP!

Edit: But in all seriousness...right now for this team...can't think of a better RT then John Tait in Chiefs history. Remember Willie and Tait bookends? Yea

Definitely, I saw him dive into the end zone once and knock a defender half silly with his knee.

Without a second thought...Derrick Thomas!

Why? I'm sure y'all don't need an explantion, haha. However...not just because of his defensive abilities on the field, but he brought heart to the team. I'm partial to DT no doubt, but I don't think the Chiefs have had the same 'heart' since DT's loss. He had such an undeniable presence on the field & off with the team & fans.

Just my opinion, but I don't think Arrowhead has been as loud since the DT era either.

I would love to see that return to Arrowhead, if for no other reason then to honor Derrick.

OOPS! I automatically posted my reply before reading all the other replies, haha. Okay, so no DT I read.

In that case...I would choose HANK STRAM!! A Head Coach is a team member too, no? lol

I only get to attend 2-3 games per season for many factors, including having family come to the house on game day.

Though I don't attend every home game, I've noticed Arrowhead just isn't as loud as it use to be. I'm not sure if DT's absence is directly related or not, but it wasn't long after his loss I began to notice AH not being as loud.

It could be many newer fans just don't get how important it is for fans to participate defensively with noise, I dunno. I know I see many fans not doing all they can to create critical noise defensively. Lordy, I remember the days AH was so loud people put their fingers in their ears, haha. As well as remember our legitimate claim for being, "The loudest stadium in the NFL".

We need defensive players to rile up the fans as much as possible...DT did that. :)

I know, hahaha. Wasn't he GREAT with words! I love it!

I have an arched entrance to the lower levels main room, where we watch the games if entertaining groups. I've always planned to hand paint that very quote over the arch, but didn't get around to it. I should put it once again on my to do list, before regular season starts. Heck, it wouldn't take me long to paint it, just need to do it! :)
