Hey guys, I am getting a new dog tomorrow and I need a good name for her. This is an earlier pic of her but she is almost a year old now. Any ideas?

One year old? Doesn't she already have a name?

I've always liked Lucy, but then again I'm a big fan of early TV weekly sitcoms. :D

OK OK how about Montana?

Female form in Latin means Mountain.

Has a nice Chief's conotation as well.

She does, but she is untrained and I dont like her name. I am looking for some sort of Chiefs related name. I like D BO but not for a girl.

Since it is a girl, a Chiefs related name might be tough. But here's one I thought of that might work: Delany, after the Chiefs player Joe Delany. It can be considered a girls name and the connection to a player who never really got to be a Chiefs Hero, but was a Hero in real life.

How about Dawson? :)

How about Stram, in honor of our great coach. And one syllable is good for dogs because they learn and respond best to one syllable names. (Stenerud and Schottenheimer would be funny names but too long, heh).

You could also go with Jackie (Jackie Battle) or Darling (Devard Darling) for a female name that would be from a Chiefs player.

Oooh wait how about Cherry (after Deron)? Cool name for a dog. And it's okay that your dog is black because there is such a thing as black cherry (at least there's a soda flavor anyway, heh heh). And the fact that cherries are generally red will add the Chiefs red component to the name. Yeah, I'd go with CHERRY! And Deron was such a wonderful safety for us. Almost always made the Pro Bowl.

Actually that is good, I thought of that too, but a female dog would be a ***** or She-wolf..... So -

It could actually be KC-SHE-Wolf

Bear?

Naming process

Canada needed inspiration so he drank the first 12 pack
Wife entered garage and said, "How about bear?" (He heard "How about a beer?")

He said, "Sure"

End of story

Well at least Bear is a one syllable name which works good for dogs to respond to. But the problem is it's the name of another NFL team! I just couldn't bear with that fact if I were you, heh heh.

I still like my idea of Cherry and if I ever get a female black dog that's what I'm naming her, heh.
