Ok, so i have had Directv for a couple of days, and must say i absolutely love it.

I did not know that i could stream all my movies, pics, and music from my pc to the tv via directv, that is effing sweet!

I love the NFL network, Sports Mix, and XM radio.

Wish i had locals, but oh well, i guess thats why there is services such as hulu and torrents.

The on Demand service is nothing short of amazing, and the channel lineup is huge. If i am this happy now, i am going to be in hog heaven come September!!!

Thanks to everyone that recommended Directv!!!:bananen_smilies046:

I like Time Warner better, nothing like High Speed internet. Though I do like the NFL Network.

I think you need their DVR system to do it. It will connect to your wireless network.

By the way, the NFL Red Zone is absolutely great when you are watching games when the Chiefs are not playing. It bounces around to the different games when something interesting is starting to happen.

I just hooked an ethernet cable into my directv dvr and into my router, and under menu, it said music, pics, and more. clicked it and my pc stuff was there.

Does Windows 7 have anything to do with that process?

I don't think so, it is running off of TVersity (http://tversity.com/) (free) because Vista and Windows 7 don't like to share the way XP did.

True, I still haven't been able to network my other PCs together with my "7" PC.

I have figured it out. My Vista has Intell Viiv and WMP 11. It works with that combination if you adjust the settings in WMP. Otherwise, Tversity can work as Nilla pointed out. I don't find it very useful though. It takes forever to load pictures and very few movies play on it.

Hmmm, all of my .avi files play just fine on it. Gotta love "free" movies..... The pics are very slow, but the music isnt so bad.

Did they have sound? Maybe I should try Tversity.

Yeah TVersity is a blessing. I use it to stream to my xbox 360 too, and it has all my music, movies, pics and more. You can also browse and view youtube, and hulu shows & vids using tversity too.

Go with the Pro package, its free!
