Obviously, we have a bit of a question at defensive tackle. I wanted to share my view on who will be "the man" at the position.

Junior Siavii! Why? Just because he reminds me alot of one of my all-time favorites at that position... Dan Saleuwhatshisname.

Sorry, too lazy to look it up right now.

But what do we say?

Junior definitely has the potential; would like to see more of him and maybe we'll get that chance as long as Sims continues to lazy himself out of a starting position.

Well I'm outa here; gotta get ready for work.

Junior Siavii?!?!!!?

You're joking, right?

That lazy POS couldn't carry Dan Saleamua's jock.

It would wear him out.

Afriad I have to agree with ya on that. Siavii will never be Saleamua. Not even close.

I guess I don't see him as much to get motivated about. I still won't be surprised to see him playing for another team by the time the season starts.

The only fire I ever see Siavii lighting is the one at the next luau he attends back on the island.

Your probably right; I did think that he had potential though.

Well, now, the whole Siavii comparison to big Dan was actually intended for amusement. But, Myself, I was impressed with the improvement to the defense last season. I've been reading alot about the problems with the D-line lately. But the run defense was the one area that we actually improved.

(Giants game aside) I didn't see a whole lot of the interior line being thrown around. And even in the Giants game, tackling was the real problem. Inside, outside, everywhere on the field, poor tackling was the achilles' heel for us that day.

Basically, I want Siavii to become a stud because he looks (physically) like Dan. I don't think that he is a stud. But, I don't believe that he is a "scrub" either.

Glad you pulled that game aside after you praised the defense.

You are right, the run defense did improve over the previous season.

They were better at stopping the run; overall, however, the defensive front couldn't get to the QB to save their lives.

Actually, they couldn't get to the QB BECAUSE they were saving their own lives.

I wish junior the best. But I have yet to see any bigtime plays out of him yet. Herm say you have to be avalable to be on the team. That kinda cuts his chances of staying a chief if he keeps staying hurt.

He and Sims seem to be accident prone.

Speaking of defensive tackles, Ron Edwards and James Reed both played a pretty good game against the Rams.

True; but it was the lambs; not exactly a test.
