O'Callaghan to K.C. - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com (http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/09/ocallaghan_to_k.html)

Looks like the Browns wanted him but we had priority on waivers because we had a worse record

Another player from the Patriots. Seeing a pattern here, the good news is the Patriots rejects are probably better than most of our starters. Thanks again Herm, love ya!

Released Richardson to make room

OK so heres the dish. Ryan O'Callaghan was drafted by Scott Pioli in 2006 and played in 26 games for the Pats. He was injured last year and put on IR. Looks like he is healthy now and participated in camp but was released yesterday. He is 6/6 345 pounds.

More intersesting is that we cut Barry Richardson to make room for him. YES, WE JUST CUT BARRY RICHARDSON FOLKS!

Pats fans seem to agree that it's a good move on our part.

O'Callaghan claimed by Chiefs - New England Patriots Forums - PatsFans.com Patriots Fan Messageboard (http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/268419-ocallaghan-claimed-chiefs.html)

thank god, a new lineman....i like Pioli/Haley for shaking things up, veteran, former starter, whatever... and bringing in new faces (especially along the O Line..)..my only complaint is that they shouldve traded a high pick for a GOOD lineman way earlier so we couldve incorporated him into camp and such....now these guys wont be able to contribute for another couple weeks, but hey...better than havinf Macintosh or Richardson in there....yikes

With his size, it will take the defensive players longer to run around him.

you got to love the fact they are at least addressing the "problem" known as our O-line. Hope he sticks

i just hope Alberts dosn`t go down. Bad thing unless Scottie trades a very high pick other peoples scubs is all we will get this time of the year.
Since it seemed in the draft he worked on defense this last draft maybe next year he`ll work on the offense.

Lord i love the chiefs but a good i dunno majority of you here need to wake up. This guy is nothing better right now then the scrubs we have now. The only good offensive lineman we have are waters and albert. After that is journey men has beens and peoples leftovers. Im sorry to crush all of your love parades about how pioli is upgrading or improving our team but he is doing so by a small margin. We cut a pepsi for a coke in the sense of whichever brand you like better it still taste the same. And bike you cant spell lol.

How do you know that? He's good enough to have started games for the best team of this decade. Damian McIntosh was the worst starting tackle in the NFL easily.

Someone already mentioned Ryan Lilja and how he went from some scrub we dropped to becoming a starter for the Colts. Brian Waters was undrafted too you know. If we never gave guys like this a shot Waters would be going to pro bowls for another team.

Yashi stop being a homer dude this guy is a scrub until he proves else wise.
Dude, he is right. Just give this guy a chance. Look at his size, he would be perfect. Obviously Pioli thinks he has what it takes and is going to give him a chance.

Brian Waters starter out the same way.

Casey Wiegmann, UDFA

Wes Welker, UDFA

Corey Mays, UDFA

Just give the guy a chance before you start trash talking his name.

8 o-lineman on the roster is cutting it thin. But then again the way they block 4 QB`s is cutting it thin.

he's not any better than the scrubs we have now? can you please explain this? he didn't play last year due to an injury, and he started quite a bit of games for the pats when the pats were really good. i appreciate your realistic point of view, but i think you're a bit over the top here.

So I would like to know where all the Pro Bowler F/A are. I still stand by my post earlier about all the UDFA, and former picks that didn't do well with the team they were drafted with.
