The Vikings get the first crack at former Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop.* But Bishop is making other plans for his NFL future. Next up on the docket, PFT has confirmed, is a visit with the Chiefs on Thursday.* (Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the looming Chiefs visit.)* A source with knowledge of the… Read more…

I watched a few games in the past weeks & one season really stuck out (1990) I always thought that was our year! Steve DeBerg 23 TD's 4 INT's was amazing! Not to mention he had a huge pin in his finger. Does anyone remember the Wild Card game? We blew that game vs. Miami 17-16! I never thought Dave Szott was holding. That killed a huge run by Okoye which brought us to the 8 yard line, instead we were pushed back & Nick Lowery missed the 52 yard FG (dead-on) short by less then a foot! Our team was loaded that year! Top to bottom. Ahh..memories!

Scott Pioli won three Super Bowls in four years as V.P. of player personnel in New England.* His quest for his first Emmy officially began today. Take that, Vladimir Putin.* (Actually, don’t take that, Vladimir Putin.) Pioli will make his first appearance on NBCSN as a member of the NBC family at 5:00 p.m. ET… Read more…

Maybe we’ll now finally get to the bottom of whether Vladimir Putin lifted Robert Kraft’s Super Bowl ring. The guy who set the table for coach Bill Belichick’s three Super Bowl wins in four seasons has entered the NBC family. The Chiefs shuffled a few names on defense Friday, adding an outside rusher in place of an interior player. The team announced they claimed defensive end Austen Lane off waivers from the Jaguars, and released defensive tackle Daniel Muir. Muir has been a serviceable player in the past with the Packers, Colts and Jets, but… Read more…

Given the recent disclosure (which many of us already assumed) that in post-9/11 America the government can and does monitor a lot of the stuff we do, the secrecy-obsessed NFL has even more reason to ensure that its confidential information is secure. Before going any farther, I need to disclose that Terrell Owens thinks I’m the devil.* So it’s possible that anything I write will be subconsciously influenced by the fact that he has exposed my horns, hooves, and pitchfork to the Twitterverse. When veteran fullback Vonta Leach found himself a belated former member of the Ravens, his first order of business was to try to get back to Houston. Apparently, the Texans have interest in that. The Chiefs announced the signing of tight end Travis Kelce and linebacker Nico Johnson on Thursday, leaving rookie offensive tackle Eric Fisher as the club’s lone unsigned draft pick. A third-round pick from Cincinnati, Kelce hauled in 45 passes for 722 yards and eight touchdowns for the Bearcats in 2012. One of the reasons Alex Smith held onto the quarterback job with the 49ers as long as he did was by being careful with the ball. But while 10 interceptions over his final 25 starts is about as clean as it gets, he had just 30 touchdown passes over that same span, and Chiefs coach… Read more…
