Assuming he gets released and we can restructure his deal. I would love for us to work out a trade to later in the first round and take th best guard available. Then with our trade back pick take a pass rusher or wide receiver. And then in the third take the other.
I think even if we trade back out of the first to get more picks like a high 2nd and a 3rd maybe another we would be in great shape. There will be some great players available at the top of the second round.
If he gets released we don't have to "restructure his deal." He would be a free agent and could go to the highest bidder. The Eagles are trying to trade him because he won't restructure his contract. If he gets released he will probably have to settle for a little less than the $10.5 million he is scheduled to make this season, but some team is sure to offer him far more than the $4.9 million that the Chiefs have in cap space.Quote:

Fat chance of Jackson being released & the Eagles getting nothing in return. This would needlessly cripple their Offense. Common sense would indicate that it would be better served for the Eagles to keep him and continue paying him and maintain the downfield threat that he's brought to their Offense for years and he did catch 82 passes for 1332 yards and 9 TD's last season. You don't release that type of player and get nothing in return.

TopekaRoy, I've read somewhere on NFL.com that Chip Kelly told Jackson that he wasn't going anywhere. I'll guess we'll have to wait and see, but it makes no sense whatsoever to me for Philly to part ways with him at this stage, as they are very thin at WR behind him and Cooper. I know for a fact that Philly fans want him to stay and rightfully so.

Jackson was just released. The Eagles have grown wary of his connection to LA gangs and want no parts of him.
I hope the Chiefs aren't interested. They can't afford him on the cap. They can't afford him in the locker room. Hopefully Dandy doesn't take on another reclamation project.

I think it's crazy that the media jumps to conclusions like try have. Obviously I have no idea one way or the other concerning is off the field relationships. But when talking about it on tv they repeatedly showed pictures of Jackson with friends using hand signals. I played college football for 5 years with players from all over the country. Guys from Cali would use signs in pictures all the time but were nothing but stand up men on and off the field. A simple sign doesn't prove he is in a gang and to make such assumptions so quickly is kinda sad.
On a side note I really hope the Comments but Jackson concerning Reid are true and I hope he wants to come to KC. We need him.

We would be foolish and incompetent to not at least kick the tires. I havent been folloowing the drama too closely, but with the timing of the gang implications, it seems like Philly was trying to do a smear campaign to save face. I imagine if there was any significant concern, this would have come up the last time the were negotiating contracts.
The gang rumors (if false/overblown) would only help us. If Jackson wants to do a good deal and come back to play with Reid, he may be willing to accept a little less money here than somewhere else. If we could sign him for like 5mil a year, I would be all over it. We would have to free up a couple mil, but that can be done with some minor restructuring that could be done without killing our cap in future years.
Jackson lined up across from Bowe would be an amazing combo IMO. Jackson's ability to stretch the field would free up Bowe a little on the short routes (what he is best at). Combine that with JC out of the backfield and a healthy TE group and we would have a potent offense. I doubt it will happen because of the $$ involved (I am sure he wants more than we could afford).

If I had to speculate, I would say, no. Jackson was drafted and played for Andy Reid and he fits this Offense. I'll just wait and see. I'll give Jackson the benefit of the doubt, if he signs on with KC, and certainly it could make it a lot easier to trade down in this draft and not have to take a WR at #23. If we do get him I would say we could have the one of the best offense this year. With bowe, jackson then avery or jenkins in the alot with charles in the backfield. Who would they double cover? Only thing that might hold us back is tight end. We haven't seen enough of kelce to know if hes any good. Maybe go oline as well in the 1st round but I stil think we need to go DE that can rush the passer with our 1st.

I think he would make a great addition to The Chiefs. But I think there is a bit of a red-flag in regards to his rap label and image.
The "gang sign" pictures I have been seeing are in relation to Jackson stating I'm from Califronia. It looks like he is holding up a west coast sign. That doesn't prove gang relations in anyway. The having a picture with a guy attached to two murders is kinda iffy. However I have pictures from high school with guys in jail for selling drugs. Doesn't mean I sold or did drugs just meant I picked a couple bad friends for awhile. I think the upside with Jackson on our team is too great to not give him a chance. Like someone aid earlier short incentive based contract and let's see what happens on Sundays.
Bottom line is if Jackson really wants to be in KC, at a fair price, and reunited with Andy Reid, then you have to consider him.
You're not going to get Jackson at any less than $10M per year. Someone will pay him.
That somebody will probably be the Oakland Raiders. They have the cap space.Quote:
