The Kansas City Chiefs have claimed quarterback Matt Gutierrez off waivers from New England. Gutierrez appeared in five games during two seasons with the Patriots, completing his only pass attempt for 15 yards. An undrafted free agent out of Idaho State in 2007, Gutierrez will compete with Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen as the backups to starter Matt Cassel.
