First of all, I think both parties are pretty much full of (insert word not allowed on this site). However while I have issues with the GOP, the Democrats have severe logical flaws in their economic plans.
You can try, but in essence you can NOT successfully tax corporations. Corporations by their nature will make their profit. If you tax them 10% higher, they'll simply raise prices 10%. Sure you can 're-distribute' the wealth and pass those corporate taxes to those who are less fortunate, however all you'll do is increase their cost of living at the same time and leave them in the same position. The only way the Democrats 'economic plan' would work is if corporations and the 'elite wealthy' decided to take less profit and eat the taxes.
Its not gonna happen. For one if I was in their shoes I'd raise prices to cover tax increases too!!
The problem is that too many people like to live in an idealistic fantasy where the Robin Hood isn't a story but rather a reality. Even my economics professors in college tried to parlay the wonders of socialist systems. Although I did get an A on my Advanced MacroEconomics case study. I did a little paper that did a comparative analysis of free market system economies and socialist economies around the world. The key point he liked was that I wrote three pages on why I couldn't include the US in the case study due to the regulations and restrictions we've placed on our economy that land us square in the middle between free market capitalism and state restricted socialism.
Alas, I'm a nerd and I'm boring most of you.
Okay, let's work this out logically without a lot of emotion.
If you vote for Obama....
You get this.....
But if you vote for McCain....
You get this...
I don't know about you guys, but looking at this in a logical manner, McCain appears to be the better candidate.
:D
