In honor of the 40th anniversary season of the Chiefs winning Super Bowl IV, The Star each Sunday will revisit every game of the 1969 season and 1970 playoffs, capped by the Super Bowl victory over Minnesota. Coach Hank Stram pulled a trick out of his repertoire for a big play on offense and unveiled a new wrinkle on defense as the Chiefs beat the Chargers 27-9 in the 1969 season opener at San Diego.
