Yep... kind of sad to see him go, but it's for the best. I think if he can work on his accuracy he can be pretty good. He can probably do some things for them in the wildcat too.
Good pick up for Miami. He should end the season as their starter since Henne and Pat White aren't ready.
As far as KC goes, I hope they got at least a 4/5th rounder for him
I'm guessing it's a 5th.
Hate to see him go but we can use all the draft picks we can get. Draft pick probabaly depends on how much he plays.
This also frees up a roster spot... I've heard rumbling about Lance Long, the receiver we signed to the practice squad from Arizona, being brought up. He's a Todd Haley favorite, which is strange because I thought Haley hated all his players.
yeah maybe but untill we better on the O-line i think for the chiefs thigpen would've been better than cassle and croyle
i bet we get the pick back we traded for ndukwe and the other guy we got from Miami earlier this year
A fifth rounder? So, basically, we traded Thigpen for Colin Brown... because that's apparently what we're going to get with our 5th rounders.
i would be suprised if it was higher then a 5th round. unless there are incentives.
Another CP/Herm guy gone...
I hope it's at least a fourth rounder and that they give us back the pick we gave up for those so called O-linemen. Good luck, Thiggy!
Are anger management classes part of your free health care up there? Plus I said that all of the profanity and calling people stupid is really enlightening stuff... I know I for one feel very fortunate to read all of the intelligent stuff you say!!!

Does it upset you that I disagee with people talking
sh!t? I didn't know that a swear word would hurt your poor delicate feelings. Im not sure if you know this, but there is an ignore button. Feel free to use it. http://www.chiefscrowd.com/forums/im...2009/04/50.jpg
Canada you're a @#*&^% )(*())^%% and a #$$%%^^.
I hope I didn't hurt your feelings.
Fair enough. I know that this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just hate people getting jumped on for posting theirs. All you seem to do is call people out for projecting their feelings and ideas on a FORUM! But I will leave it at that and not turn this thread into an argument... That is the worst.
Unfortunately I cant remember the last chiefs 5th rounder worth talking about. hopefully we get some value but I wish thigpen well. These are dismal times... hard to optimistic. I think a win would help... haha
you know I am tryin to be passive... acting hard on a message board is the lamest most coward thing to do. Though it seems the good lord may have blessed you with a little extra brawn and skipped the brains.
I was jumping on someone who said that our pick was gonna be a bust. I find that hard to believe when we don't know what round pick it is, we don't know who is gonna be making the pick nor do we know who will be available to be picked. That is why I said something. If we are going to assume every pick is gonna be a bust then why watch this team? Its like saying you know we are going to suck forever without anything to back it up. I guess I am just one who is tired of hearing posts like this for 3 years.
Yeah good call. I thought he was a fourth for some reason... I wonder if the pick is conditional to performance. If so that would could end up in our favor. With pennington all but done and henne and white not really able to cut it.. Thig could put up some great numbers in that offense. We may end up seeing a 4th yet.
Kind of sad to see him go but he seemed to be no value to us this year.
Interesting news to come home to. They were just talking about how Philly will probably let Garcia go again soon because the Eagles don't need 4 QB's. So I was thinking well the Chiefs also have 4 QB's and I wonder how long that will last. Then Thigpen is let go.
Hmmmmm, this is weird.................
I think the Chiefs will regret this decision. I can easily see both Croyle and Cassel going down at the same time.
I thought Thigpen looked pretty good at times last year. The ability to run, with our o-line, is a really nice asset to have.
Maybe Hailey has some diamond in the rough waiting in the wings. However, I see this a pretty cynical move.
Thigpen has always been terrible at best in a normal offense though... there won't be any regrets. With Hailey gone, any chance of us ever running the Pistol Spread ever again went out the window.
I would have to add the
2008 5th Round
Brandon Carr
2007
Kolby Smith
2005
Boomer Grigsby (cut by Miami because he was hurt, having a good year.)
2003
Bobby Wade (Chicago)
2002
Scott Fujita (Now with the Saints)
2000
Dante Hall
Should I go further back, or look at other teams?
Dude- you could hardly call Boomer Grigsby a 5th Rounder worth talking about. Drafted as a LB, he ended up amassing the pro-bowl-worthy total of 28 tackles in 4 years. When he couldn't hack it as a LB, KC couldn't bear to part ways with him, so we made him a FB, where he had a great year catching the ball out of the backfield- with 2 rec. for 14 yards.
The good year he was having in Miami in 2008? 1 tackle in 1 game.
Just sayin'
Not sure they will pan out yet but Sean Ryan and Ryan O'Callahan are also 5th rounders.
By the way if we get a 4th, Jared Allen was a 4th.
And he wasn't our draft pick but Tony Pashos was a 5th rounder.
