I have been a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs for over 20 years, despite growing up in St. Louis. The Cardinals left town in 1988 and headed to Arizona, so to alleviate my need for NFL football I latched on to the Chiefs and their exciting, if underachieving, teams of the 1990s. If you would have told me nine months ago that the Kansas City Chiefs would be alone atop the AFC West after the second week of the season, I would have stared at you as if you were an alien getting out of a spaceship.
