I don't think there's anyway they keep Cassel as the number 3 guy. Think they would just rather eat the cap hit then have him filling a roster spot. If he's back he's number 2 at worst.

You know if you look at it objectively Flynn lost out to arguably the offensive rookie of the year, Wilson had every bit the impact luck and rg 3 did. So he played behind a star and then a star rooki beat him out. Can't judge him on losing out to Wilson, no one thought Wilson was gonna be this successful.
I wouldn't be pissed as long as it came cheap.
I suppose that a 5th rounder would be OK for Flynn & does address a major need. The Chiefs have to bolster the QB position, somehow. But like you've said, overreaching isn't the way to do it, and Andy Reid already mentioned something about not forcing the issue.
What would you give up for Hasselbeck. He is on the last year of his contract at Tenn. He comes from the GB QB factory. He may be a good bridge/backup vet. He also may be available a lot cheaper than Flynn. Maybe a 4th round pick. Thoughts?
Nothing about Hasselbeck excites me.
we would probably have to give up a 3rd rounder for flynn, hasslebeck would cost to much for a back up, would only be a one year starter, cassel would be a good #2 but cost to much.
Chiefs will have 2 third round selections and an additional fourth or fifth round in compensatory picks. Easily we could get 10 picks for this draft.
Has there ever been a QB that was considered a "reach" when drafted that has been great for a team?
