Do It!
Really?
What has Josh Freeman ever done to get this hype? He's been ok. But Ok isn't what I want at QB
Idk much about freeman but he looks the part of a reid qb, hometown kid, id prefer we get another pick. Id say our 1st for freeman there 1st and 3rd
Heck no. Not with the 1st pick. Maybe swap second rounder. They are close to given up on freeman anyways. Freeman is better than what we have but we can do better in draft.
Plus he only has one year left in his contract. And the bucs are not going to extend him which should tell you something. Next year is do or die for him if he wants to make it.
Heck yeah. We'll already have 2 qb's by the 13th pick.
2qb's? Whos the second. And u better not say any on iur team now.
Tyler Wilson. Aaron Murray if he declares.
Geno geno lol
Murray already said he going back for senior year. Thiugh it would be nice to have but if tyler wilson or whover we want at qb i dont want to risk waiting tell the 13th pick. Plus freeman only has one year left on his contract. Id we did that and drafted a qb then we would only get him for one he cuz we wont want to be a backup then its mutes the reason for the trade and be a waist. The woukd have to give up more then just freeman to trade up that far. This is the most ridiculous trade iv heard.
i remember chiefs fan's SCREAMING to draft freeman, instead we got dorsey. The kid has all the tools he's just been inconsistent, but put him with reid in a STABLE foundation and i think the kid would be a monster, i think he's better then big ben and smarter just needs the system around him.
And he does have 1 year left and bucs are already saying they don't plan to resign him, but what if in the second year of the system he's in he kills it and they do resign him? or what if they franchise him? then we either miss out on him or give up far more than just swapping 1st's. If this is even a remote possibility i think reid explores it and who knows maybe freeman comes home.
I believe Reid will look at all options - trading down for more players/picks being one of them.
i agree, and i have faith he will make the right decision for his style and this team. and i'm all in no matter who he takes or what he does with our picks, whoever comes to this team is a chief and i'll scream my head off for them to succeed.
I can tell you from living in Tampa that Freeman has had a different OC and different play book to learn each of his seasons. If we take him and give him some stability he will prob be a really good qb. We already know he can win in the nfl. I'd def take him.
I say go for it. Josh Freeman would be an immediate upgrade at the position and can draft another QB in the later rounds.
Im perty sure there is no truth to this rumor at all anyways. I wouldnt trade back to 13. #4 or 5 is the farthest id trade back to.
Don't we need a staff of more than a head coach who has been in town four days before we start picking a quarterback?
I'd be for Freeman to participate in a true QB competition though.
He'll no.. no more then a third.. or we swap 1 and het their second and a five
While I still prefer to draft a QB, I could live with this. Plus, with any luck, the Chiefs would still draft a QB if the right one fell to pick 14. But I do agree with most of you that we should get another pick as part of a trade like that.
I hate to be a downer, but let me put some perspective on this.
Why would the Bucs want to trade us their 1st round pick AND Josh Freeman for our #1 pick? If they are willing to give us their starting QB and first round pick, then what position do you think they'd take with our pick?
DING DING DING!!!!1
It's obvious that they have a QB that they're high on and they're willing to give us their QB to get him. The Chiefs would be falling into the same trap as they always have. The ONLY way I'm okay with this is if we get a 2nd round pick with the first and trade up for the 2nd best QB after the Bucs. Other than that, no way.
I'd be open to this as Freeman has proven that he can win in this league. He has won games in multiple seasons although not always a winning record but he can't help that the Bucs pass defense is worst in the league. If you give him some consistency at OC and a good supporting cast I feel he will be a winner. I've seen him do more with less talent in Tampa. Make this trade happen!!
How about Tebow he is probably going to be released by the Jets and they are saying the jags want him wold he fit the QB mold of Reid. Would he be better than Cassel he is a proven winner in this league.
Statistically, Tebow is one of the worste QB's in the league. He is a gimmick QB that is nice to have every once in a while as a threat when teams are not able to sub from a big package to a pass package. When it comes to being the starter, Two teams have sprinted away from him as their option.
Just to add to the thread in general and not directly to you. Freeman has really done nothing except for rip the Chiefs apart which many say was his turning the corner game. I would be scared to see the hype around him as a K Stater as the dices our defense in practice to get killed in real games.
There is clearly a biased opinion in favor of him, but I would rather take a shot on a rookie with our first. It is kind of like the Stanzi theory. The rookie hasn't shown us how crappy they are yet so until proven so, no thanks on Freeman.
Agreed. After 4 years in the NFL, Freeman has had his moments, but there is something missing, and until he proves me wrong, I just don't see post-season success with this guy.
I'd be interested in their WR Mike Williams, but not by swapping 1st round picks. Something more reasonable.
So we're better off reaching for unproven talent vs a guy who has quite a few nfl wins under his belt, is going into his 4th season with his 2nd HC and 3rd poss 4th OC? I think he has all the tools to be a good qb in the right system with consistency at HC./OC. Just my opinion. What is it that Geno has that Freeman doesn't?? I'd much rather try Freeman. Up until this year he has had basically no running game to back him up. He had a stretch of good games, and a stretch of not so great games. Most qbs do go thru that.
And NO to Tebow. He seems to be a cancer in the locker room and he thinks he's a starting qb but doesn't have the talent to be one. If we si get him which I hope we don't I'd us him in all dif positions. Line him up at te, then at RB, then in the slot. That would be the best way to use him, as a utility player.
Geno? Geno geno, i feel like a pokemon lol
The Jags have already said NO to Tebow.
Tim Tebow won't be on Jacksonville Jaguars, GM says - NFL.com
The Chiefs should do the same, most certainly. What should be of concern to Chiefs fans regarding the above article is the Jags with a new GM may be in the market for a QB with their 1st pick.
I did, I'm saying in my opinion I would trade our number 1 for theirs and Freeman (which I doubt would happen anyways) he is a starting qb in this league, and I think he has the things that make a good qb. Hes not Brady but he's decent, much better than what we currently have. Then you draft a qb in the second and let him sit behind Freeman for a year then have them compete for the starting job in their second season. How many of the qbs coming out this draft are gonna be effective starters day 1? I don't see any of them having near the success Luck/RG3/Wilson have had this year. Freeman can play, give him consistency and I think he will do the same in return!
Bit if we could get an extra 2 or 3 i wouldn't be mad.
