You have proven my point.
Think to yourself. What good does it do to play spanish commercials or translate team names into spanish on an english network.
ESPECIALLY SINCE THE PROGRAMMING IS AVAILABLE IN SPANISH ON A SPANISH NETWORK.
You assume that all hispanics speak spanish? How wrong you are. nearly half of all hispanics in the country know little to no spanish at all, and it's their Heritage. So what is the NFL really trying to say?
According their Communications Director they are doing this without care for the english audience. And it should also be noted that even though there are hundreds of different cultures represented in the NFL and in their Fan base that this is the only culture they support with a foreign language.
If we continue to allow this dissolution of our past time and our entertainment medium and it will soon become the norm and not the exception. Our fore fathers first fought with boycotts and petitions and I beg all of you for the future of football as we know it and for the future of entertainment media and my sanity to please call the NFL if you are unhappy about this.
What point? That the NFL is forcing us to learn a foreign language? Exaggeration to an extreme.
I assume all Hispanics speak Spanish? au contraire. I was having fun with the saying "I know 8 hispanics who don't speak spanish". This is too much of a generalization to be taken seriously.
But this is the US. Our forefathers did lay down their lives to be able to speak our minds. So I think it is good for you and the other people upset by this, this attack on our freedoem of (English) speech, this terrorist infiltration of the holiest of shabbot traditions (to remain at piece and watch football), this travesty against our civil liberties, should call the NFL.
:mob: :mob: :mob:
I don't really want to debate - this is a non-issue. I'm just trying to have fun. --> If you are really worried about taking up a cause our forefathers would support with their petitions, take a look at the Patriot Act and write your congressman. These are the things they took action against. If you want to get upset about a few billionaires trying to make a little more money on a market with lots of potential (and yes there are 100's of others, but look at NFL Europe, games in Japan, etc. --> the NFL is an equal opportunity marketer), you'll probably have a hard time getting names on the paper....
:D

If Spanish bothers you then learn it and you won't have this problem.
If you can't learn spanish then ignore it and quit buying fruit and vegetables if you want the immigrants to go away.
Oh and start mowing your lawn and building your own houses and they will not have any jobs here to come and take away.
Seems pretty simple, eh?
Who cares if it's in Spanish....drink enough beer and it all sounds the same
