Mmm...no. I don't think the weight (in such small increments) has much to do with the difference between a Glenn Dorsey and a Gregg Kelly, its more discipline and technique while playing that factor big for me. The straight line speed of the NT isn't so much a necessity as it is his strength and ability to demand the double team which Dorsey didn't do very well, if at all, last year.
While I'm kind of hesitant to say that Dorsey is DE material he does have the inital burst off the line his outside edge speed I'd imagine is underwhelming and nothing short of non existant. If anything Dorsey would have to drop about 15-20lbs to become anywhere near effective as a DE and develop his quickness.
So in my opinion it'd be best to tell him to gain weight and pack on some muscle and sit him in there at the NT position then try and convert him to DE. He can be coached on how to play a NT faster then he can be physically molded to be an effective DE.
Same story for Tank.
