Report: Chiefs Worked Out TE Leonard*Pope - Arrowhead Pride

I don't get why the Eagles released Basket instead of accepting a trade. Looks like if St. Louis doesn't nab him, he may be a Chief.

Don't know much about Pope except that some of you want him.

We don't know how accurate that report it, but it is puzzling. Only thing I can think of is that it came down to timing. The Chiefs probably made a low-ball offer that was contingent on a time frame that the Eagles let expire. Or the report is completely false which is more likely.

Arrowhead Pride got the story from the National Football Post which has been pretty accurate in my experience.

Sounds like a good deal to me ! I would take baskett off the waiver wire hes a stud with great hands ! Also the Rams just signed a WR so the Chances are good that we will get him . I would rather have Baskett then Wade , but hey lets move Copper since hes not playing anyway !

We probably tried to trade for him for a 6th before we used that pick to trade for Ndukwe and Alleman.

I've been wanting Pope to get signed by us ever since Arizona released him. Pope knows Haley's offense, has a few years starting experience, is still young, and is a much better option than Jake O'Connell or Brad Cottam. In my opinion he'd be a good pickup.
