Default Sacks Given Up by Left Tackles (Branden Albert)

This is super interesting, and looks like it will be updated weekly.

Sacks Given Up By LTs (Updated Weekly!) - WalterFootball.com Forums

Albert gave up 2 of Baltimore's 3 sacks in the first game alone, tying him for worst in the league. It makes me realize that I think we should still pursue a true franchise left tackle (and right tackle of course), and eventually move Albert inside to his college position where he can be one of the best in the league. Hopefully in the meantime at least, Albert starts playing better.

I think its a little early to be saying they need to move him. It was one game. But your right if Albert does not start to improve he does need to move back to his college postion. Hopefuly it does not come to that an albert can have a good season.

yeah, maybe we should get a couple pro bowlers like Flozell Adams or Jason Peters... you know, Pro Bowlers who you can build a team around.

... Personally, I'd rather have a LT in his 2nd year who DIDN'T give up more than 10 sacks last season... but hey, maybe I just see potential in a guy who only gave up 4 sacks in his rookie year.

As you look at these stats, the big thing that stood out to me was the Adrian Jones/Mike Goff comparison. Obviously we all know McIntosh and Niswanger weren't very good last year, but I didn't realize Adrian Jones did THAT well last year.

Then, when you look at McIntosh and Runyan, it might give you some insight as to why the Chiefs didn't sign Runyan while he was here.

I think the sacks for our team last season are misleading since much of the season we were in a revamped offense built around Thigpen being able to make plays without necessarily having to spend a lot of time making reads. We were also in shotgun almost every play.

I could be wrong, but I think Albert gave up most of those sacks when we were still in a standard offense.

Interesting stats though. It does make me wonder why Adrian Jones was released.

The shotgun is being implemented a lot more all around the league, so to say Thigpen was primarily in shotgun, thus sacked less is misleading as well.

We should be taking a look at Tauscher and Langston Walker.

Anyone check out how many sacks Tait gave up? I can't believe he actually gave up 6 sacks.

Probably why he retired. I mean the dude WAS 34 last year. Not exactly a spring chicken
