Surely there is some good that came of this game. The defense improved from last week yardage wise. Hard to say what else, i couldn't watch the game. It's only been two games, I'm not ready to declare the season over like some
I think your way off here,
I would agree with Cassel, if we split into playing and decision making though Cassel would get a B for Play and a D- for decision making.
O-Line had a few bad plays but I still think they showed up a lot more then they have been ... B- Might want to look into replacing Waters.
Receivers - Bowe did Ok Wade was really fairly impressive, especially for his first game a few days after being signed. Jake O'Connell (I know a TE but still had a fair amount of passes to him) Should be moved to the practice squad. The rest of the Receivers not much to say. B-
Offensive play calls, D Agreed here, Hailey took the blame for several of the plays in the post game conference but the play calling that I saw out there today just isnt going to cut it.
Defensive play calling One Word PREVENT F.... The D did good until the last drive of the game but unfortunately that is the only one that mattered.
So to wrap it up.
Matt Cassel
Play B
Decisions D-
Receivers B-
Play Calling
Offense D
Defense F
I will also add
Running Backs B+ Much improvement by LJ, rest lacking.
Defense
First three Quarters A-
Fourth Quarter F
All in all it still looks as if this team is playing NOT TO LOSE, and that is unacceptable.
As college as it was last week wasn't it interesting to see a team with a game won keep going for points ... going for the throat. Maybe we need to take that kind of mentality.
I thought Cassell played like she-ite
Watching him lawn dart several passes in the flat in the second quarter had me scratching my chin.
Defensively, holding your opponent to 13 points, and their leading rusher to 35 yards is pretty good. Russell was fairly ineffective as well, and we sacked him twice. Maybe DJ will get to start again after having an INT in wk.1 and a sack in wk.2
LJ rushed better, line seemed improved, but Cassell... Not exactly looking like $60 Million worth in his KC debut. Maybe a little rusty- we'll see next week.
My pleasant surprise? Bobby Wade. Welcome to KC, Mr. Wade.
