    I think what I read was that players have to have played for 6 years in the NFL instead of the usual 4 before they can become an unrestricted FA. That means the player's current team can match any offer and retain the player.

    So, it is going to be very difficult to get young players in their prime this off season.

    we're not building this team through free agency(thank god) but through the draft. unfortunately vermeil chose to plug in who ever through free agency i dont wanna see us go down that path again.

    Julius Peppers will be a FA aswell. He got franchised last year and he also said what wanted to move to a 3-4.. Would be a nice compliment to Hali on the other side

    Lots of good options at Safety. It also looks like the Saints have a lot of big time players they need to resign. I'd love to get G Jahri Evans.

    Weigman will be an URFA regardless, I wouldn't mind bringing him back home to finish out his career.
