    Default 2010 Chiefs Mock Draft

I found a mock draft that just shows Chiefs picks, and I must admit I agree with about everyone of these picks. Of course it all relies on these guys making it to us. What does everyone else think about this approach? I would be very happy if the first 4 rounds went this way. Each pick would address HUGE needs.

    Bleacher Report

If you don't want to read it (though I recommend, the analysis is pretty good) here are picks in rounds 1-4:

1.) Eric Berry, FS, Tennessee (also notes that they will go for Okung if Berry is off the board)
    2.1.) Ciron Black, OT, LSU
2.2.) Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse (a guy to plug the middle)
3.) Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi St. (a large back to complement Charles at 6'1" 240lbs.)
4.) Damian Williams, WR, USC (this guy would be a great slot receiver and is not afraid to catch balls in traffic)

    Few comments:

    Berry I love.

Black is OK, though I don't really mind Ryan O'Callaghan at RT. I think C is a bigger need on the line.

Arthur Jones is about 300 lbs at most. Way too small to ply nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme.

I like Dixon, though I don't know about drafting a backup RB over potential starters at other positions.

Damian Williams could very well be gone in the 2nd round, much less the 4th.

Ciron Blacks stock has dropped farther than wall street. Overall it's not a very realistic mock at all.
A mock I like is www.drafttek.com While it has one person assigning values,, it is computer generated and could but could live with them.e realistic. I don't like all the picks, but could live with them.

I don't have the most knowledge in regards to college prospects. I'm glad you guys pointed this stuff out. I think what I agree with though is the positions and the order they are addressed. I like the RB being addressed fairly early because we need a solid backup RB that can carry the ball 10 or so times a game and be effective. That's something we don't have right now. I don't want to see Charles getting worn down in a couple of years.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but those drafttek picks are downright awful!

Its well known the Lions will take Suh or an OT, Bucs' #1 need a dlineman, Clausen is rated over Bradford by far by most scouting reports, Oderick is overrated by them, Parcels doesn't draft 1st round WRs except once in a blue moon, Davis is overrated by them, Graham is overrated by them, the Patriots taking Dunlap has a ~0.1% chance of happening with Dunlap's work ethic, two guards won't go in the 1st much less those 4 OLBers, Thompson is not a 1st rounder nor Wooten and the Saints need OLB / DT help a LOT more than a backup olineman.

Whew....those were just quick stand out problems - I don't have the energy nor want to really tear that thing apart. Basically, most of that mock is disagreed upon by all reputable mock sites and folks like me who live & breathe college football.

I won't argue one way or the other. But the most succesful person picking in mock drafts are right less than 30% of the time. Whose to argue with a computer,

    Here's mine.

    1. Eric Berry, S (Tennessee) - Look at the Steelers if you want to see what a difference an elite Safety can make for a defense. They're dreadful without Polamalu. Berry is a rare talent and compares to Ed Reed. With a top pick here, you must get a player who is likely to be a superstar.
2a. Terrence Cody, NT (Alabama) - While I've been hard on Cody and hate him as a 1st round prospect, I think this is a perfect spot to pick up the massive NT whose stock has been dropping all season. I believe he will be a 2nd rounder when it's all said it done and Dan Williams will be the first nose tackle drafted. This pick completes our starting defensive line.
2b. Maurice Pouncey, C (Florida) - Plug arguably the top C in the draft in arguably the weakest spot on our offensive line.
    3. Jordan Shipley, WR (Texas) - Shipley fills a great need as a quick slot receiver with great hands and his ability to return kicks and punts.
    4. Micah Johnson, ILB (Kentucky) - Big strong guy with big upside, but injury problems. A home run if he can stay healthy.
5a. Mitch Petrus, OG (Arkansas) - Groom him as an eventual replacement for Waters. He helped make Darren McFadden (bust) look great in college.
5b. Brandon Sharpe, OLB (Texas Tech) - Very productive pass rusher for Tech last season.
    6. Brandon Banks, KR/PR (Kansas State) - Take a flyer on the little guy late as a potential elite return specialist.
