Someone at work brought up a good point.

The Chiefs have really good players, even when we suck. Not many teams might be as fortunate.

Since 1970, the Chiefs have the most players who have won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Those as followed.
1972 - Willie Lanier
1973 - Len Dawson
1993 - Derrick Thomas
2003- Will Shields
2009- Brian Waters

That makes 5, if you can't count. One more than Chicago. To put this into prosepctive, the Steelers have won 6 SB's. They have 4 winners on their team. Remember our only victory in 1970.
Dallas, 5 wins. 2 award winners. Patriots, 5 Wins, 0 award winners.

I'm just saying, this team only has one SB win, and hasn't been a dominating team...and yet, we still pump out great players with great attitudes.

both win the Walter Payton award when Walter had not played in the NFL yet?

It was NFL man of the year, and then they changed it to the Walter Payton NFL Man of the year.

Still its the man of the year.
