    Default Chiefs Pursuing Boldin

This is the first news I have heard of the Chiefs going after anyone, and I gotta say I like the guy they have chosen to go after. Granted, we're not the frontrunners, but anything can happen I suppose.

    From Rotoworld.com:

The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson reports the Patriots are the front-runners to land Anquan Boldin.
The Ravens and Chiefs are also pursuing Boldin, so the Pats have competition. Say this for New England: they know a good value when they see one. At the cost of a third-rounder, Boldin is a no-brainer. His next team has him under contract cheaply for the 2010 season with a year to work out a contract. If no deal can be reached, the cost was still just a third-rounder for one season of a possible difference-maker.

As someone else pointed out, it's essentially replacing Tony G with Anquan Boldin...I'd feel much better if it just cost a 3rd.

i heard today the chiefs are also going after Keven Walters of the texans.
Shocked Pioli is doing anything but saying it and signing them are two different things.
i can remember what a chief super bowl team looks like! ......

I am, without question, telling you that HE IS NOT WORTH IT.

this is the same pick that we got for Tony Gonzalez.

    THEIR LAST FIVE YEARS:

    TONY GONZALEZ

    G REC YDS AVG TD

    16 83 867 10.4 6
    16 96 1,058 11.0 10
    16 99 1,172 11.8 5
    15 73 900 12.3 5
    16 78 905 11.6 2

    ANQUAN BOLDIN

    G REC YDS AVG TD

    15 84 1,024 12.2 4
    12 89 1,038 11.7 11
    12 71 853 12.0 9
    16 83 1,203 14.5 4
    14 102 1,402 13.7 7

Pretty comparable, huh? except that Tony G didn't miss games for injury. Boldin's health is causing him to slip.

Two years ago would you have traded Tony G for Boldin straight up? What if it meant that you didn't get EITHER player last year, and only got boldin after he got injured yet again?

    No thanks.

3rd rounder at the highest, and even then, I'm not sure.

With the draft as deep as it is this year, there is a lot of first round talent that will get pushed into the second round. The value at that pick is too high to spend on an injury prone player who has one year left on a contract and wants to be paid top dollar.

C'est la vie. I think we should focus on Kevin Walter now.
