Vasher?
Nathan Vasher released by the Bears.
Should we go for him? I think its an instant upgrade at CB for us, let him and Carr battle it out for 2nd corner/Nickel. Either way, competition is good, and Vasher is a veteran safety who will help make both Carr and Flowers better.
Thoughts?

He will turn 29 near the end of the season. How old is old? I think whether he ends up 2nd or Nickel, having him in the secondary is an instant upgrade. Veteran guy who has made plenty of plays, including the once longest NFL play of all time. (not that its a measure of his total worth, but how many players can claim that?) A veteran presence can help our very young secondary.

Guess I was thinking he was pretty old. Maybe I was thinking of someone else.

Wouldn't hurt. I say bring him in for a workout.
-
He could provide some competition in the return game as well.

I think we shoudl adress the DBs through the draft. ERIC BERRY!!!
-
Vasher would be a good compliment to Berry. Berry is a safety. Vasher is a CB, we can both adress our secondary needs with a draft pick via Berry, and bringing in Vasher from FA.
-
Vasher was also a very good returner in Chicago. Might take some pressure off of Charles to return everything. Guess a work out couldn't hurt....

Vasher sucks...trust me. As a friend of a couple Bears fans who watched quite a few games with them, they had nothing but bad things to say about him. And after watching him, he got beat consistently by teams #2 WRs.
No thanks, someone else can have him.
