I am going to blame the media for the distraction. Dwayne made some comments in 2007 that he shouldn't have made. Everyone makes mistakes, but the media is making the biggest mistake.

Leave Bowe and the Chiefs alone.

I think he made the comments recently. The comments were about his rookie year, but with the multiple articles that have come out in the last two days, im pretty sure he made the comments recently.

Chiefs Coach, Dwayne Bowe Had 'Long Conversation' - Arrowhead Pride

The story in question took place in 2007 -- before Haley and GM Scott Pioli took over -- so Haley's response is reasonable, I think.

Yes, the story took place in 2007. Bowes commments were made recently. Why else would there all of a sudden be several news reports coming out three years later?

I believe you are correct. I know I remember seeing in another thread they thought they were made three years ago. He made the comments recently about an incident that happened 3 years ago though.

On the field, the Chiefs are upbeat about Bowe's conditioning and work ethic. Bowe didn't drop passes this time.

“He’s much further along in the offseason compared to where he was last year, and that’s progress, as far as I’m concerned," Haley said.
He's young, once the season gets going and this type of rubbish is off the burner, you know when all that Farve talk comes back this'll go away. At least from the national headline aspect.
