McCluster doubtful for season opener

Sep 11 McCluster (illness) is listed as doubtful for Monday's season opener against the Chargers, Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reports.
Recommendation: McCluster sat out practice Friday, but we had no idea that his illness was serious enough for the Chiefs to mark him as doubtful two days before the game. He was a popular rookie sleeper, especially in PPR leagues, but it looks like we'll have to wait at least until Week 2 to see if he can begin to capitalize on that potential. Because you'll likely have to make a lineup decision on him well before Monday night's kickoff, he's simply too risky to play this week. Terrance Copper or Jeremy Horne will serve as Kansas City's No. 3 receiver.

Why? I think he is and is going to be, a great player for us, but we still have other players.

Personally I think he plays a key role in our offense. Even though he is a rookie, he will help win more games than most players on the team. He just has those intangibles that teams don't see that often. I look at him like a quicker and better overall player than Sproles. His durability is still in question but as I said, he will be vital in helping this team win so if he is out, IMO it is crippling to our team.

McCluster seems like the type of player that would want to play on a MNF. I bet you he plays.

The simple fact that he's just on the field poses a threat and gives the Chiefs more options and spreads the defense out.
