Default McCluster doubtful for season opener

Dexter McCluster - Kansas City Chiefs - News - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Sep 11 McCluster (illness) is listed as doubtful for Monday's season opener against the Chargers, Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reports.
Recommendation: McCluster sat out practice Friday, but we had no idea that his illness was serious enough for the Chiefs to mark him as doubtful two days before the game. He was a popular rookie sleeper, especially in PPR leagues, but it looks like we'll have to wait at least until Week 2 to see if he can begin to capitalize on that potential. Because you'll likely have to make a lineup decision on him well before Monday night's kickoff, he's simply too risky to play this week. Terrance Copper or Jeremy Horne will serve as Kansas City's No. 3 receiver.

I saw flu somewhere, but who knows.. if it was flu you think he would have been resting during Saturday's practice instead of practicing so he could play tonight.

I really hope he plays. Aside from me just wanting to see him on the field, we need him out there. We are a little banged up at WR right now and if we want to beat the Chargers, we have to be firing on all cylinders.

He's still on the pre-game jitters for a Saturday game? My guess is he'll suit up and go out for a few plays.

It's hard to imagine him not being involved to some extent. As a player, I'm sure he wants to be out there as much as possible.

I think he did enough this Pre-Season to warrant teams taking note of him when he is one the field. He is a big play waiting to happen. Even if he doesn't touch the ball, the Chiefs would do well to put him in as some sort of distraction every now and then.
