CHIEFS ADD WR WILLIAM BUCHANON TO PRACTICE SQUAD
Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has added WR William Buchanon to its practice squad. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreement were made available.
Buchanon (6-3, 191) attended training camp with Oakland from 2006-07 and also spent time in camp with the N.Y. Giants this year. He spent time on the Raiders practice squad a year ago before being promoted to the 53-man roster on December 19th. He played in two games for Oakland in 2006, catching one pass for nine yards.
The Oceanside, California native played cornerback and wide receiver at USC. Buchanon earned All-America honors as a senior at Oceanside High School when he caught 30 passes for 553 yards (23.0 avg.) with five TDs. Buchanon’s father, Willie played 11 years in the NFL for Green Bay and San Diego.

Is this because of the injury to Kennison?
usually when they sign someone, doesn't it mean they got rid of someone?
who'd they kick to the curb?

Guess Sippio couldn't cut it.
THAT quarterback is NOT a Pro Bowl quarterback. Never was and never will be.
He's never been a real role guy in SF...and considering the shoddy WR staff we've had the past few years that doesn't say much for him. I think if Bowe continues to emerge and Herm/Carla figure out that Sippio is a better possession guy (hands) than Parker, the KC WR corp will be okay, especially when/if Kennison returns to health.

The 49ers own my heart, but the Chiefs will always hold a better than neutral spot for giving my favorite player a place to leave with grace...

Since when do we cut people from the 53-man roster to sign people to the practice squad?
Everything happens for a reason.
